fix-it ticket >>> loud muffler | what to do?
i had a really bad day,i wanted to get home fast so i did like 80mph on turnpike.
A cop stopped me at the toll and he told me that i was doing more than 75 in the 60mph area, then he asked me to rev my car, and roll up the window....
He took my driver license and after a few minutes he came back and told me that he could wrote a ticket for speeding but hes gonna give me only 1 ticket for the muffler....
what should i do? take it to the court so most probably i have to take a day off? or just go to work.. make the money what i make that day and pay for the ticket lawyer?
im just asking because i thought taking these tickets to the court is a good thing but now i had to take 1 day off because an improper turn ticket and now i have to get another day off for the trial.. and i just lost more than 200 dollars with that two day off..........
work and pay it at the ticket lawyer or no work, pay for the muffler shop to swap the muffler and go to court?

Was it FHP? if so, just get some other cop to sign off on the ticket that you got it fixed and send it in to the courts...
i cant count the number of times that I had to do that... LOL

i would go the cheaper route, which would probably be paying it.
if you figure the amount of money lost if you go to court (day off work, paying a shop to take it off/put it on once court is over)........it adds up.

im pretty sure a fix it ticket is 89.50
stop whining, pay it if yourgoing to, if not just take a picture of your stock exhaust and show it to the judge and he'll reduce the fine to something like $20

sucks dude... but it looks like the cop was trying to give you a break by not giving you a speeding ticket. id probably just pay it and let it be. ive never gotten a fix it ticket, so if you have to have a cop sign you off, might as well. is it truely loud? or what? i dont remember. worst case, if you let me know in time, i have a stock axleback you can swap in the mean time

Heres some police advice.
have a police officer at any station or a family member thats a police officer sign the ticket for you. The bottom on the right side.
Then go to your local county clerks office or call to make a court date. At court they will see you took off the exhaust and will be written off. thats is of course if this is the first time.

just show a pic of a tc with stock exhaust, same color, dont drive the car there just in case.. since you "fixed it" should be nothing but the time spent at court in costs.
my buddy got his car limo tinted, including the windshield.. he took a pic before he had it tinted.. he has taken that old pic to court twice now.. has paid nothing, hasn't removed his tints

i got a tint ticket on my way to sibling rivalry this weekend, side windows metered at 3% but he only gave me a ticket for the windshield 30%... he told me that if i removed it and had it "inspected" it was only $10 he didnt say i had to go back to his court district.... just mail it in with payment... i would think the same would apply on the exhaust.
if you can find an officer to sign for it, have them sign it, mail in the reduced payment and youre done...
