Just filed a complaint with the service dept at David Maus
here is the email that i sent in, Im not very happy at all with what happened, hope that ya have a good laugh out of it all...
To whom it may concern
My name is Don P********, and this morning I brought my 2005 Scion xB in
for a 4 wheel alignment. After pulling into the service drive, I waited
15 minutes for someone to even approach me and ask me what I was there
for. Although the two guys that were walking around in red jackets and
hats did not hesitate to stop and look at my car, which didnt bother
me, except for when the one (whose name I cant remember) leaned on my
car.
After the 15 minutes, Kenn walked up to me and my car and shook my
hand. When I said that I wanted the alignment, he said that all they could
adjust was the toe since my vehicle was lowered. to which I said that
it was possible because a friend of mine, whose xB is lower than mine,
just had his done about a month ago, which is the reason that I decided
to go to you all for service.
So Kenn called out Trigg, and Trigg told me that in fact, it would be
possible to adjust the camber and caster. Then, with Trigg and Kenn both
present, I asked if there was going to be a problem since my vehicle
had a spare tire on the rear of my vehicle. They both assured me that
there would not be a problem there, and with that I gave them the keys for
my car and let them drive it away.
When I got home I read through the assesment sheet that was given to me
along with my reciept. I said that the toe was out and that was
corrected, but it clearly states that "further adjustments to the vehicle were
not possible because the vehicle was unlevel due to the spare tire on
the left rear corner"
Please contact me via Email at **********@yahoo.com or on my phone at
***-***-****
Attached is a copy of my reciept for you to look over.
Thank you for your consideration and I am looking forward to hearing
from you in a timely manner so that we can get this resolved before Im
forced to replace two, brand new $140 tires.

dang that sucks. hope it works out for you man
which I'm sure it will since you took the time to write out a professional e-mail
I bet you'll have to call to follow up, though, since e-mail with dealers seems to have a long response time (unless you're buying a new car, of course)

don~ ok im playing the devils advocate now, sorry......
now that you have written your letter, do you just want your money back for the aligment or a free one once you get your other tire put on it. since i even know that if you had a spare on the back tire how in the HELL do you think they were going to balance them all or adjust the camber and tows (or whatever that is called)?
just my 2 cents...
If you don't get anywhere soon, I will be with the scion manager this week in chicago, and talk to him about it!

ISSUE RESOLVED
I got a steelie from Maria, drove back, and they did the whole alignment over again...
sure it took 2 hours, but oh well.... atleast it was done right...
funny thing is, i went into my email to see if i had gotten a response from them, and i got an auto mailer... saying that the email that i sent it to "service@davidmaustoyota.com" is not a valid email addy... lovley isnt it...
handled, done, glad to see that some people out there actully like to see customers are happy, sure $70 aint alot, but still, is the principle of the matter
but im still not happy with the way that they handled their customers there, and the fact that you have to get on their case about something to get what you want done correctly is total BS (plus we all know that i dont like to get loud and angry with anyone)

Don - glad I could help.
You must already realize that I will be talking to the upper management at David Maus about this. The entire way the situation was handled was poor (customer service).
I'm glad RJ was around to help us out (he's a good guy) and I will give you any/all updates that I might have.
I'm taking my xB in Friday to get worked on so I plan on "discussing" things with them at that time. Upper management should be around at 11:30am on a Friday.

4 wheel alignment on a xB? Even with new springs they could adjust the toe. You can't adjust the camber with the mcpherson struts unless you get camber bolts or camber plates. The rear there is no adjustment at all. Its a basic two link that just moves up and down. Most dealerships will not tell you this but what you are realy paying $75 for is for them to turn 2 nuts and you toe rod. It takes about 10 or 15 mins and the dealership is makes a killin off of it. When I bagged the xA I took it to an ole school tire shop and the charged me $35 to adjust the toe and it has been fine and thats been about a year ago or better
