You should some of the comments on the new V6 Camaro videos with aftermarket exhausts. Some were like "when did Nissan start making the Camaro?" there's only one way to get the sound of a V8, and that's getting a V8.

@trdscion haha yea i know but my dad had both a 67 and 68 camero and as much as id like the v8 i could never afford it. id definitely be settling for the v6.

@dropzone i havent test drove the v6 so thats a disappointment to hear its weak. have you heard it with the ford racing exhaust?

If there is any question what the frs is faster than, just check out the best motoring videos. After this thing is out for awhile, and people realize its potential, trying to justify buying a v6 mustang instead because it handles better will end with most people laughing. Doesn't the mustang use the same rear suspension as my xb2?

You mean to say the mustang handles better with springs sway bars wider rims and stickier tires. This wasn't an out of the box comparisons by any means this was a modified mustang vs a brz. Wtf is so hard for people to see about that? I guess its the people who haven't been around racing very long who don't see the obvious.

You mentioned the "track package" which, to any person reading this, would indicate that you want something that handles well.

frs/brz with similar mods would destroy it on a track.

So...what have we learned?

A car with a 3k in mods will beat a stock car around a track.

This is some groundbreaking stuff.

TIL modified cars are faster than cars that are not modified.

I think you guys just mis-read each other. At least the way I read it was...

Roller_Toast was saying that those who going out to buy the Mustang because they "think" it handles better....will be the ones end up getting laughed at.

tCs_are_life was saying that he would buy the Mustang, but not because he thought it handled better, just that he really likes the Mustang

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what it sounded like you were saying. Just the way you put it, it kinda ran all together.

IMO I dont know why these cars were pitted against each other. First off if I had a V6 mustang I wouldnt be tracking it! Second I wouldnt settle for a V6 Mustang. I really like what Ford has done with upgraded engines overall. That 5.0 is no joke but thats comparing apples to cucumbers. The v6 msutang compared to the BRZ or FR-s is apples to oranges. I dotn think you will find many going looking for a car and saying do I want the BRZ/FR-s or a V6 mustang. Its great that we are seeing hpow awesome the BRZ/FR-s will be in stock form. Cause that just means much better things to come in the aftermarket department.

I just watched this video and what I get from it is that the stang is good for the money but the BRZ is a much better "drivers" car. It is obvious that the reviewers favored the BRZ overall. I owned an early miata for 2 years and undersatand what a real "drivers" car is. One thing no one here has mentioned is build quality..should I say any more about that? I do think the mustang is a thousand times better than older mustangs ..but its still a ...mustang. I will stick with my Toyobaru thank you

Has the BRZ really fallen so far that we are comparing it to a mustang? :/ I would chose it to a mustang any day, but i would chose a mini-van over a mustang also.

you were right. i heard the 3.7 v6 with stock x pipe and roush exhaust and it sounded good. then the people upgraded to bbk long tube headers and x pipe and it sounded terrible

Tried to go test drive frs....4 local dealers...NONE had one to test. Each place was getting 3, each had already sold them!

Rythm&smoke, thanks for clearing up our miscommunication!

Mind if I add some facts to the fanboy circle-jerk?

Apples to apples pricing:

2013 Mustang V6 with track package: $24,990 MSRP
2013 Genesis 2.0T R-spec: $27,375 MSRP
2013 Scion FRS with Prius tires: 24,930 MSRP

Performance data from Motor Trend: (I used MT data because it is the most favorable to the FRS of all the tests I've found)

----------0-60----0-100----1/4 mile-----60-0-----lateral G-----Figure 8

Mustang--5.3s-----13.9s----13.9s-------110'------0.95---------25.4s

Genesis---5.7s-----14.5s----14.2s-------111'------0.97---------25.5s

FRS------6.2s-----16.8s----14.8s-------118'------0.93---------25.9s

Before you start flaming me, all I'm trying to do is provide some facts to go with the koolaid. IMO they are all good cars in their own ways.

Well something is not right there. The frs does 0-100 in 16.8? but the qtr. in 14.8? I think the 0-100 should be around 14.8 because that's about what it finishes the qtr. at..

Oh jeez, did I just defend the frs? lol

The FRS 1/4 mile trap speed is only 94.3mph. It does seem a little odd that it takes 2 more secs to hit 100 but that's straight from MT. Also odd is the fact that these FRS performance figures are all much better than the BRZ. Performance figures for the BRZ range from 0-60 in 6.4-7.0s and 1/4 mile in 14.9-15.3. I wonder what the difference is? ECU, gearing, curb weight?

Oh ok, didn't realize the trap was that low, makes sense.

Why do I keep seeing the FR-S as having Prius tires?? They are indeed better than 05-10 tC grade tires (summer). Same size and weight rating too.
