saw this awhile ago, already "signed-up." I wish they asked for a bit more than just color and transmission preference though.

They probably don’t want to be asked “Where’s the turbo?!” I know I would be one of them.

It's Toyota, think it goes without saying that there is not going to be turbo especially if the "BRZ" might not even have one. Toyota was rumored to be adding turbos to the lineup but not sure the timeline on that. I'd be down. Then again I'd probably rather get a Descendant bolt-on and get much more power out of that.

I fell in love with this car, but then someone told me that the production version isn't going to have that rear fender swell.. is that true?

Is this car going to change shape before I can get my hands on it?

These are supposivley production car pictures:

it looses a LOT of the sexyness, but is still pretty impressive.

uhh.. why does the other pictures have a toyota emblem instead of ours? I know they will have the FT86 but are they identical? Is that an 86 or frs?

All I can say is WOW! Ever since I saw this car I wanted to know when I could get one. This might be worth trading my '12 tc...not sure though

most likely not though, this car is so much fun to drive, I didn't spend this $ to just trade it in next year or whenever the FR-S comes out. I'm gonna put some wear and tear on this 12 tc!

I hear that and second the fun to drive, but I didnt even know anything about the FRs until after I traded the Tc for Tc. I'd much rather have an FR @ the price range they've been talking but who knows.. maybe much more by release..

so answer some questions...

FR-S, FT-86, and the BRZ will NOT have turbo

production looks nice for what it is...its not anyones fault that 5axis always has AWESOME concepts that make the real thing hard to compare...thats why its a concept

most photos are from Japan...in Japan its the Toyota FT-86. its like that because Scion is only in the USA, Puerto Rico, and Canada...there is no such thing as "Scion" in Japan or Europe, etc...so it has to be Toyota instead

the FR-S is going to have a big following for sure...its the first real sports car by scion. there are other sports cars that are faster/cheaper...but the scion brand is what helps it get sold....also this should also boost recognition for all scions (including first gens) since the scion name in general will get bigger with the release of the FR-S

ETA release is June or July 2012 by the way

any more questions? comments? concerns?

Toyota wont get a USDM version.

United States/Canada/Puerto Rico = Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ
Rest of the world = Toyota FT-86 or Subaru BRZ

So they are identical? Just the BRZ going to look different?
