The intake, being attached to the engine, vibrates a lot. Even if you tried to attached them they would rub and become damaged. Also the rubber vibration could throw off MAF readings. If they're too close they need vibration absorbing material between them; very soft rubber or rubber foam, something like that.

k, just drove another couple miles.

Def feels better. It feels like the corners are just easier to take and more precise. Also flatter turns at high speeds and it feels like there is less understeer.

Overall prolly should be worth $100, $150ish at most

Yeah, that's fair to say. Cusco is a premium Japanese (read: "their economy isn't quite so crappy so their stuff costs more") brand, the parts or more well made than is needed to get the job done, and they take pride in the aesthetics of it as well. That may or may not justify it to you, but it should be considered.

Thanks for the updated 'review' Yuriy.

I think I'll go ahead and sell it. Hopefully making back the money I spent.

I'll just get sway bars in a few months.

Bear in mind that stiffer suspension components put more stress on the chassis. Chassis reinforcement on a stock car make little difference, but when you get stiffer springs, struts/shocks, swaybars, or better tires, or change the alignment to give more grip, these put more stress on the chassis, literally twisting it more. The before-and-after effect of chassis bracing is greater the more suspension mods you have.

Interesting never thought about it like that. On a side note even the corolla xrs come with a sway bar of sorts from the factory. I always thought the tc should have one that's just me. I guess I'll look at the sway bar as a start to a suspension upgrade.

@everyone
Nick is very knowledgeable and has helped me with my car a TON. I couldn't have done half the mod if it weren't for him.

@Steve
Yeah, it kinda feels like a time bomb with the zip ties ive put up. After a while they will break/stretch and shutter my MAF while im 100% on the gas pedal......

Yeahhhh...it comes down to if you like your intake or strut bar better...

Since we have alternatives to the strut bar that will do the same thing (but better), I think I'm going to hold off.

Nah that's not what he said at all. He was basically saying that chassis stiffening mods feed off each other.

The difference that a strut bar makes by itself is smaller than the difference it would make if you already had sway bars installed.
