without the intake:
the good:
1. some of the lowe torque is back!
2. not as much cabin noise from the exhaust and less droning!
The bad:
no more friskieness at high rmps
no more the awesome RAT TAT TAT sound from the engine that intake unleashes
btw I just funneled 2 beers with 2 shots of Belvedere in it and jesus.....that ____ def takes a years off your life and makes you quarter retarded hahah

Just thought i'd chime in with my Takeda experience.
I bought my intake from racing guys online store, and installed it in my TC. Exactly like yours, it sounded legit and was awesome for a while. Eventually, I started losing low end torque and then....the CEL turned on. I read the code and it was P0101. So I unplugged the battery and such and it turned off, but in about 20 miles it turned back on.
Soooooo I called Takeda, they said they had never heard of a CEL problem with the intake.. :/ They couldn't help me in any way, so I sent it back to racing guys last week, and today they refuned me with the charge of a 10% restocking fee.
Moral of the story, AVOID THE TAKEDA. Go with Injen or Weapon-R

Just pull the stock snorkel off and throw in a good replacement filter such as a K&N. It gives the nice throaty sound you want, lets the car pull a little harder in the mid to upper revs and does not kill the bottom end like all the aft. intakes do. I firmly believe in CAI on the proper applications. The Tc2 just is not one of them that benefits from them imo. Save your money for more LED's, you need a few more. Lol

I'd go with the new AEM. If my intake throws a CEL tomorrow and I get a refund, that's where I'm going.

Will the AEM clear the Cusco strut bar though? I remember someone saying only a handful of the intakes would clear. One of the reason I wanted the Injen is because it came black already. Not that I can't alter the one I do end up purchasing.

Actually, the ONLY intake with major strut bar clearance issues is the Takeda. Every other intake for this car has been fine. That's why I'm selling my brand new, unopened CUSCO bar if you're interested

the descendant comes in black too
#795
My Strut Bar cleared my Takeda Intake? Have you tried reinstalling it and messing with it to try and get more clearance? I was in freaking lovve with the Takeda until my CEL came on, I wish cars weren't so smart

CAI's often mess up any cars with MAF based intake sensors.
