what to buy
before i get started i'm already expecting a bias, but i'll pose the question anyway.
what should i get an FR-S or a 2008 APR stage 3ed Audi TT?
i'm graduating college in a little bit, and i showed my dad the FR-S when it came out. well he likes it... alot. so if i do well i wouldn't be suprised if i was now in the market for one.
well i go to Auburn, and as i'm sure you all know the APR world HQ is in opelika, and my best friends dad happens to be an engineer there. they make all sorts of performance parts for all the cars in the VAG (hehe). well they can push a MKII Audi TT to 450 hp with 93 octane. thats pretty impressive.
so my real qustion i guess would be, do you think that the "feel" of the car when you drive is enough to offset the shear performace of the TT?
btw they are both about the same price, so don't use that for justification

Ps im assuming you are talking about performance not interior features.
Anyway, IMO get the FR-S.
pros:
full warranty
Grad rebate
Sexier
Imo aftermarket for the car will rapidly expand
So if u buy the Scion you can have a full warranty and then after the warranty period is up in 5 years there will probably be so many aftermarket parts to choose from. So during the 5 years that it is under warranty you can put money away and save for mods.

The new TT Coupé blends all-out sport styling with classic Audi design elements to create a vehicle that delivers on all levels. The turbocharged powerplant delivers inspired acceleration and performance, while inside, uniquely crafted brushed aluminum accent strips and finely stitched leather sport seats set the tone for sporty elegance. audi.com
WITH A FRONT-MOUNTED FLAT BOXER ENGINE AND A 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION, THE REAR-WHEEL DRIVE FR-S IS MADE FOR GOING PLACES scion.com
So these 2 quotes imply that your statement is wrong. How is Scion selling the FR-S to be something it is not? I would argue audi is selling the tt as something it is not. How has audi created a vehicle that delivers on all levels? Creating a vehicle that delivers on all levels is impossible. Someone would have to make a vehicle which could fly to space and go to the deepest depths of the ocean and drive on or off road. The vehicle would run on perpetual motion, be able to accelerate faster than any current vehicle, be bomb/bullet/fire proof, it would have to be able to change its shape incase you need a truck one day, an RV the next or a compact the other day. It would have to be made out of solid gold and probably have whale ***** interior or something crazy like that.

Put it to you this way, I had a 2005 Scion tC, and a 2007 BMW 335i. when I looked at how my two cars held up side by side, I decided to get an FR-S. European cars drive wonderfully, but they're durability as far as plastics and rubber gaskets is embarrissing. My conclusion is BMW builds the ultimate LEASING machine, ownership isn't so great.
European cars offer fantastic driving experiences and look great, the ownership experience however sucks and blows outloud.
