Who here is planning on getting an FR-S or BRZ?
Im just curious how many of current scion owners are looking to purchase an FR-S or BRZ? I really like the car and the more i see it the more i want one. I probably wont even consider one til next year or two years from now.
I know that you can get a wrx for the same price but i still like the look of the FRS/BRZ and i like 2 doors and rwd.
The only downfall for me right now is the power. 200 hp is nice but after driving a tc around its not much more and im already sick of the lack of hp from the tc.
Hopefully there is nice gains from aftermarket parts or Supercharged and Turbocharged models in the near future.
What do you guys think?

Yea its either this or a wrx. They are two different cars so its really up to prefernce. Personally i dont like 4 door cars. I dont have a family and have no need for anyone to sit in the back seat of my car.
I wonder if the BRZ will have an sti version that is turbo'd. If they can make that happen under 30k im all over it. Well see though.

I put in a reserve on the FR-S back in May 2011, when the first spy photos of the Nurburgring mule were uploaded. IIRC, that would make mine the first reserve for the FR-S in North America... until the "First 86" program started... so I guess that means I'm number 87 now. I'm okay with that, though.
My case is a bit weird; I've been chasing after a "modern AE86" for a while. After the tC, I wanted to get something rear-wheel-drive, but not huge, and not from the American Big 3. I didn't want to get a convertible, and I wanted it to be 2-door, 2+2 seats. The closest that I was thinking was the BMW 128i, but now that looks incredibly heavy compared to the FR-S. All the details that were coming out about the FR-S, even the power, were things that I was perfectly fine with, if not in love with. I got a chance to sit in a Subaru BRZ at the UMass auto show yesterday; the seating position feels perfect, and there's even a cozy potential spot for a 52mm gauge that can stay out of sight line.

nope not impressed by the car at all. i mean i like the looks but i was hoping for something with a little more power to start off with. yes i know it can be modded but its not worth it to me. if they come out with an sti version of the brz then maybe but for now my eyes are set on a boss 302 mustang or a 370z. idk time will tell if anything new comes out along the way as well.

Waiting to see what's planned for the later model year releases. I know that some first year buyers will probably be kicking themselves for not waiting, while some will love theirs no matter what.

Sweet! This is one of the few way to make this car useful. Make a build thread with pics plz

The body design looks great; but...I just can't get past that Subaru engine. Sorry I just freakin' hate it.
It's a shame because I really wanted this car until the engine spec reveal.
Oh well, theres always the used car market for older Toyotas.

Whats wrong with the FA20? Its not like there is any real world information out there on it yet, how it performs, responds to mods, holds on after 100k miles etc. Any other traditional motor would have thrown out of wack everything this car stands for AKA balance.
Hence why I am waiting 1 year to purchase to see what the motor is really all about.
