well in my way of thinking (and I am not alone) the only real sports car is a RWD sports car. I like FWD for economy cars like my former XB but there is no way I would sink money into trying to make a FWD car try to go fast or handle well so I ordered my FR-S and It will be in my hands in a few short weeks. I could buy a BMW or a used Porshe (both RWD) but this car is cheap enough that I dont have to trade in anything to buy it..cant wait

There are lots of non-RWD sports cars. Plenty of manufactures have AWD platforms. Lambo, audi, porsche, lexus (lfa) nissan (GTR), and more (subaru, mitsu) ect.. Congrats on the FRS however.

AWD is a bit of a different type of vehicle..I was mainly comparing cars with a FWD platform to cars with RWD. There also is no AWD car in the $25000 price point that I know of.

plus I have not driven any AWD cars but in Autocross they perform well for the most part. I do know that if they loose any traction, then once they gain it back they can get very wild. I myself saw a guy get squirly around a turn and nailed a curb once he regained traction.

What's interesting is that a lot of the AWD cars are based on FWD platforms.

I never really priced one out recentlly. I sat in a WRX sti at a show..and it was just way too small inside for me..and the door pillar hit my shoulder ..i have to have a 2 door car.

any small 4 door car is too small for me..I cant stand having the door pillar in my way.It was the main reason I got rid on my XB..I was interested in the wrx a while back and sat in one..soon as I get the seat in the right place I have to move forward to see out the drivers window. Now the legacy GT was different..bigger car no problem. So i will just have to see if this little Scion fits

It is a nice 4 seater for only 2 people. My younger daughter is 5'4" in the drivers seat, a small person can fit behind her, small.

Default I'd down with an FR-S, subject to driving one

I'm seriously thinking about selling my Gen 1 TC (TRD suspension, leather, etc., etc.) and buying an FR-S. I need to drive one to see how the unimpressive TQ matches up with the gearing and just how high rev is high rev. I live in San Francisco Bay Area, so the Fillmore hill or Waldo Grade would tell me a lot. The great saving grace of the TC is the TQ at relatively low revs. . . and the handling is damn good with tires, lowering springs, sway, and so forth.
My color choice: first place Whiteout, with Ultramarine and Firestorm tied for second.

What do you guys think?[/quote]
