Show me a +/-10 second (1/4 mile) Hybrid cause we all know for sure Supras can achieve those numbers.

This isnt the article I was looking for....but.
A hybrid diesel thats 0-60 is sub 4 seconds, 50 MPG, and made by highschoolers.

The article I would have liked to refer to was of a university made car that made (i think) 800hp and got 30 MPG. 0-60 was around 3 seconds.
Here is an all electric fast car.

hmmm supra
I've heard all kinds of rumors for the past several years. I've got a good friend that works for GKN Drivelines in Durham, NC (he's a project manager/engineer) and he has been telling me that the Supra is going to Lexus and that by 09 we will have a hybrid sports car that puts out nearly 600 HP... I just hope it looks the same... and yea, a stick would be good, but has anyone ever driven a Civic hybrid in a stick? Its NOT a nice ride...

The closes thing to a new 2009 supra will be the Lexus LF-A which has a v-10 and a whole bunch of other greatness to go with it. You can see it lappiing the Nurburgring on Youtube. As far as a supra to take the place of the MKIV, it wont happen. It makes littl ebusiness sense for toyota to release that. The profit margins would be too small on a car like that. It's the same reason they got rid of the Spyder and Celica. The enthusiast market (as fanatical as we are) just does not command enough demand to get toyota to make a car for us.
Don't get me wrong, I really want a new supra to come out, but the truth is that Toyota is too business minded to do something like that. Our hope lies in Lexus now.
