How are they predicting the 2nd gen xB will be at the top of best resale when it has been out for less than a year?

It's like how consumer reports rates the new gen Toyota vehicles. They based it off last gen models.

I hope they are right but they certainly are not accurate. The tC is Scion's most affordable model?

bs. I have a hunch that most of the information comes from consumer report which is the biggest bs ever. After giving special treatment to Toyota, I'd never picked up another issue from them again.

I like Consumer Reports, but I think the changes made to the xB will hurt its resale value. I would trade it in if someone gave me a 2008 xB. It's ugly and fat.

Been a while since I visited the site. Only a couple of times in a couple of months. I was always under the impression the resale of the Scions was supposed to be so good too......................HOWEVER, when I had mine for sale (under KBB) and would have been willing to cut another Scion enthusiast a break, I didn't get one call or inquiry about my car. An RS 2.0 in absolute MINT condition!!!!!!!!! Saw used stock xb's for sale over original sticker price (though I haven't bothered looking for a few months now), but no one seemed to be interested when mine was for sale. Not a single phone call. Bluebook of 16.8 and ended up selling it to CARMAX. Lucky for me the payoff was far less than what I owed. By finally letting the car go, I was able to move on to something else. High resale??????? Yeah, if you,re a car dealership!!!!! I even inquired at severa. places where they buy/sell high end and quality used cars.........."no, sorry, we aren't interested............unless you want to give it to us for this.............."...I think the resale value only applies to dealerships, The cars are not worth crap according to anyone else. You get treated as though you are trying to unload a f***ing Yugo otherwise. Funny how you can own one of the best cars made and can't unload it, even far under bluebook.

true starbuck..

Thats why i think Zman is wrong... the 08 xB has better resale apeal b/c of the better engine and bigger space.

sorry but no one wants the xB1 unless they are an xB enthusiest and people other than dealerships could care less about little ol xB people... they want a car that will sell and sell fast.

my g/f traded her 05 tC in on a frontier in september of 06 with 22k miles, a small paint chip(from another door hitting it) and a curbed wheel. the dealer gave her $16k on the trade in!

Just to throw out a fact: The amount the dealer "gives" you on your trade is a baseless number without the sale price of the new car. What you are looking for is the largest "difference" you can get between the two vehicles.

Saying the dealer gave you $13,000 for your mint CarX when another guy got only $12,000 for the same car means nothing unless the purchase prices were similar for the new car.
