can someone photochop a lip(wing) in the back kinda like the xb or xd has.... maybe wide body kit with some obnoxiously extened wheels, leds around the dash... and can someone confirm it has rear disk brakes!?!?!

also give it some paint jobs, would love to see in black!

Love the car, in fact I will buy one when it is available In black of course with dark tinted windows with smoked tails haha

Well as long as the interior is not turd brown.

I also noticed it does not have a cruise control stalk... Very annoying. I want it as a commuter as I drive about 100 freeway miles a day, has to have cruise.

I would be super surprised if a commuter-mobile had no cruise control.

Agreed, heck they did not give the yaris cruise either and it is a commuter. They offered a crappy aftermarket unit for it. One of the reasons I like the XD so much, tons of features.

I didn't know that. What argument could they possibly have in not even offering cruise control as an option? It's not like it's expensive or complicated anymore.

Yeah was one of my turning points in going away from the yaris. After you added in power windows and locks / cruise control. I was at the same price of the XD new with those options already included. Plus the XD had the much better motor "same engine as the yaris sport overseas" more room blah blah. Was a no brainer.

And yeah totally cheap to implement. It is apart of the drive by wire BS now, not even cable actuated. Just built into the electronics / servo system.

I really hope they bring over the D4D turbo diesel option. I drove a yaris with that setup in France and it was a blast compared to the 1.5L turd. & got better fuel economy!

The only thing I can think of as to why they don't give us the D4D is because diesel for cars (for whatever reason) has never taken off here. I think the automakers are just content with letting VW have the tiny share of people who want these.

We have hardons more for hybrids than for diesel, so giving us the NZ kinda makes more sense, anyway.

The other reason is that American Diesel fuel content is not as tightly-controlled as European Diesel fuel. Manufacturers who designed their engines strictly for Euro-Diesel don't want the reliability issues that will come up if the cars are run on US diesel. VW does a lot of business in central and south America so they found it profitable to accommodate the diesel fuels available there.

On another note...

The 1.0L is an optin
The 1.5L is an option
The D4D is an option...

This means technically the new workhorse 2zr-fe 1.8L from the XD or Yaris sport would possibly fit this car. The 1.8L is fun in the 2600lb XD, Is a little more zippy in the 2400lb yaris sport overseas so should be a blast in the 2000lb IQ and still net mid 40's MPG wise. WOOT!

This should be badged a Toyota, because Toyota's image can stand the joke this will become.

Way to market to old folks and the Starbuck's crowd!

"Why yes Jules, I did drive here in my IQ. Now watch as I order a $6 cup of coffee and look busy on my laptop."

Hopefully y'all don't mess the tC up.

^ You think so? I mean, this is the ultimate car for the target Scion demographic of "first-time car buyer or college student looking for cheap, funky transportation".

Old folks buy the xB, too, but that doesn't mean that it's an old folks' car.

It's a European standard. Because vehicles in Europe require front and rear fog lamps, most manufacturers have it built in to one of the tail lights instead.
