it obviously looks like the xB but i think it's more compareable to the xD and I'm surprised it's still that close in price. It's a Kia, it will be worth half of that $14g next year.

I'm sure they will get people who want xD and xB but cant quite afford it, but I don't think anyone out there is jizzing their pants about the Soul.

Dubious reliability or not (and they are getting better), I think I've found the car that will replace my Gen 1 if it gets totalled.

The reduction in durability would be more than balanced out by the joy of driving a vehicle that actually stands out, as opposed to the xB2 (which costs more anyway).

In short, I would rather have five interesting years in an eye-catching Soul than fifteen incredibly boring years in a baby Highlander.

To get an autmatic transmission at all brings it to 16,500, so I don't see it as a super deal just on price. It all depends on what comes standard.

A tad off topic, but the cube has a D pillar, its just behind the glass rather than being visable like the other side, I think the DOT would be all over Nissans' butt if they came out with a vehicle that had no pillar.

eww that thing is uglyyyyy, and like everyone else said its a kia.. forget the savings of 2500...id rather ride the bus long enough to save up the extra money instead of buying that thing

I kinda like the way it looks but no way would I ever buy one. I looked at Kia's for the heck of it before I bought my xB. The dealer opened up the trunk of one of the Kia's and all the plastic panels just fell into the trunk. I was amazed that that car made it past the quality dept. in the factory like that, let alone to the showroom floor. I'll take my next $18,000 to another car company other than Kia.

It's not my taste, but definitely a nice looking car, especially the "open deck"-whatever they're calling it.

But no way would I sacrifice good looks and cheaper price for the reliability, longevity and safety I've known with my Toyotas. I just couldn't do it, sorry. In fact, I'd rather take the Nissan Cube over anything Kia. I may not like the Nissans I've had all that much, but I'd definitely trust them more over a Kia. I suppose I'm a little biased and close-minded when it comes to that. lol Sorry, Kia, someone out there will buy 'em for sure! It just won't be me.
