Five Axis at the NYIAS
Hey Everyone,
As the time nears for the big moment, keep in mind, we have couple surprises as well coming up in a few hours.
Keep your eyes posted and also visit our site within the next few weeks for some follow up info as well.
Okay, hope you like what you see. As Jack said, the new car is more about performance and the driving experience. We'd love to hear what you think!
Okay, off to the show....

Looks to me like an evolution, as opposed to a revolution? Up till now every single new Scion introduction has been comletely different than anything that has come before (all new xD, all new and completely different xB, iQ, etc), but this looks to me like some LOOONG overdue updates. More powerful 2.5l 4cyl, 6sp transmission, updating the skin and interior, traction control... All appreciated, but frankly I was looking for more. I mean, they even kept the same stock wheels from 2004! (Yes, 2005 model year, but was introduced in June of '04)
Frankly, unless something unbelievable transpires, I have to say I'm underwhelmed at the very least. Maybe it's just that the 2005 tC was such a game-changer (in the sub-$20k category, anyway), and it's been dragged on for 6 years with barely a refresh (oooh, steering wheel buttons!!) that my biggest complaint is that this should've been done 2-3 years ago (they should've included at the very least a 6sp option from the beginning). At best this brings the tC up to that of its competition (170hp Golf, 173hp for the Forte Koup, etc), and at worst they're going to leave it alone for the next 6 years.
Oh well, it's only a matter of time until all the specs are released.
