Official 2011 Scion tC Thread (2nd gen)

The more I see it the more it kind of grows on me. I'll probably go check it out once I see it at the dealers. I don't plan on trading fr one because I don't see it as an upgrade really..if I were to sell the tC I know what i would get.
But I have to admit I'm kind if excite to see what people do to this car

Didn't count on it, just wanted to double check my logic lol. And ya, they're doing a good job at not getting all the HP out of that engine, there's lots of smaller 4's putting out bigger HP...

Just saw this for the first time today. I would love the extra hp, the couple of extra gears (I have an auto), and the star safety system stuff (extra traction ftw!), but the back of that thing is hella ugly. I wish they would have kept the clean lines of the original a little bit. This looks a little bit like a lexus is350 mated with a acura TL... and those babies got the short end of the stick. There are parts of me that kinda like it, and others that smack myself for thinking that. I think I'll stick with my RS 5.0.

the 2011 tc doesnt blow my socks off. But I do have to say Im a fan of the "burnt-orange" colour. it has interesting parts of the the body design. but its not enough that it would make me want to go down and buy one.

I guess I'll add my piece to this. I don't have a tC and have only ridden in them, and by far, I like them a lot. But I chose Scion because I wanted a reliable car and I wanted to be different. After all, their slogans are "Love It or Hate It" or "United By Individuality" and all that jazz.
I think the tC2 is perfectly fine. Who said the tC had to be rounded out? I was operating under the impression that a re-design had to be... well, re-designed.
I think it's different from what Scion normally offers, and knowing the quality of modifications that all of us here do on ScionLife, whether or not we drive tC's or xB2's (like me), I think we can make stellar mods for this series... and basically make the car even cooler.
I do not like the direction they took on the interior. The waterfall was a cool concept, but give the new one a chance.
Personally, I feel that everyone bought the tC because they were after the sporty performance: for the price, it's a pretty fast car with a panoramic moon roof, etc. Well, you're getting better sporty performance with the tC2. And it's still a reasonable price tag. And it still looks sporty.
You guys need to test drive it first or look at it first, because pictures never do justice. I think I would buy the tC2 if I was interested in it. I mean, it's a faster car and it still looks nice. Plus, I'd mod the hell out of it anyway because that's why I bought a Scion!
My xB2 is in no way like the original xB at all, but I freaking love it! It's different, just like all of us here are, and I especially appreciate my xB2 more because it's faster and just a tad bigger than the xB. But after the mods I have done to it, I turn many, many heads. And with the new tC2, you guys are encouraged to either love it... or hate it. That's what makes Scion cool.
Scion means youth, and typically youthful people are apathetic about other people's opinions. That's why we do our mods. We don't care what others think, we do it because it expresses what we want our car to look like. I personally feel my xB2 completely reflects my personality.
When they release a new tC (not a refresh), I'm sure it will tickle a few fancies just like the xB2 tickled my fancy from the xB1.
