I must say I agree with most of the posts here. Except......

I think these cars will sell easily, and remember, they are only making 400-500 right? This represents nothing as far as numbers are concerned. I guarantee there are 500 people out there that are willing to save $1,500 and brag about having a "tuner edition."

About the performance from the factory.....you really can't decrease the price of the car while at the same time increasing the performance. The whole goal with this run is to give a certain audience more of a blank "canvas" to work with, not do the painting for them. Leave that for special editions in the future.....can anyone say "TRD Edition" with the supercharger, exhaust, quickshift kit and suspension from the factory? Please!!!!!

I know I wouldn't buy one, I don't think the things they are getting rid of are worth the price cut. But, people will buy it....and it will probably be more popular simply because they are a "limited edition" rather than the lower price or tuner "readiness."

I don't think losing all of those options is worth the $1500

thats not how they plan on selling these, at least from what we were told.
they aren't trying to sell to ppl who want to save $1500, they want to sell the vehicle to a shop,a kid who wants a project car, etc. someone who will make this car/turn this car into somethign that doesn't look like a tC.
thats why dealers will be sending in requests....all this car will do is have alot of ppl who want a tC, for $1500 cheaper, with less stuff. just to own a tC, becuz all the
"cool ppl" have one

Sounds a lot like the WRX "TR" edition. Which is also not worth it, for the options you lose.

Ditto. The wheels alone would probably be a $1500 upgrade. But then no power sunroof, no keyless entry (maybe)? Lame steering wheel?

And ya... wtf is a "darker look front end" and who would OK that crap to be on a public plaque that people would see an read?

And did I read in this that there might be a "primer" option?

Isn't that going to send the wrong message to the ricer community? Like all those parts they just don't want to get painted but think look cool anyways are OK now b/c other cars have primer on them?

IMO, it should come painted. Completely.

So, the "primered" car is for people who want to do some sort of custom paint job right away? And NOT for those ricers who want to cruise around in a primered car, thinking it looks cool?

it will come painted, but the SW is also a primer, so it would come with no clear coat, and the cars could get painted wutever color the customer wanted, without having to prep it really

Ya, but if it comes without the clearcoat... it's a primer car. That's how it will roll off the lot, right?

I don't know. I just think it's a bad idea.

I agree with a lot of things being said here. I am a huge fan of a Tuner Edition tC but I'm not a fan of what Scion has done with this. IMO a tuner tC should be absolutely stripped and come with at least a supercharger if not the full line of available TRD options for either the same price as a normal tC or maybe a little bit less.

But hey, thats why I work at a dealership and not at corporate. Its not like Im actually the one out in the street scene finding out what the tuner community is looking for. Of course corporate knows more than I do because they pay a lot of money to do market research and follow trends....

I'm sorry but I just don't get it. Basicaly I can save $1500 by buying something that looks like a tC but isn't a real tC? Oh and I have to ask the already clueless salesperson 4 it specifically?

I mean, without actually seeing the full spec list, we're just guessing here. But judging from what we've gathered the Tuner edition isn't mcuh different. Sure, cheap wheels because we'll just pitch them anyways for something different. There's 1500 right there i'd think.

A lot of what I hear is lose the glass roof to save a lot of weight. Okay, so we still have a glass roof?

Okay we're gonna yank the stock seats to put in more sporty seats (sometimes), so why go with special fabric or whatever?

Maybe yank the back seats altogether as someone suggested.

No passenger door key hole? Not really something most of us worry about?

Limited color: well, yeah some of us repaint so i can kinda see this as being a better idea.

I mean, for a 1500 drop not much has happened in significant changes, and its the big ones IMHO that make a difference.
