I hope some Toyota/Scion rep is actually reading this and sees the support this thing has from some VERY critical current Scion fans...

If that gives them any clue to possibly make a real concept out of it or throw it into production.

I think it would be hot if they could ready a close concept for next year when they unveil the tC replacement/redesign. That would make for a hell of an event!

A guy I met at the miami event I called and asked about it (He is a scion Corporate National Scion Consultant) Said that it should have a 6 speed option when it comes to production.

"WHEN IT COMES TO PRODUCTION!"

It would have to be built in NAFTA-Land (US, Canada, or Mexico), or it would get hit by the 25% "chicken tax" tariff on imported pickups (all other imported light vehicles only have a 2.5% tariff).

hmm , none of my toyota corp or scion corp acquaintces will talk about it.

the 25% tax you speak of has been gone for years.

and the 6speed i find unlikely.

the 2.4 has no 6speed trans anywhere. and a new trans is a pricey thing for a 12k car

how's about the 2.5 liter 6 that's in the IS250? that's RWD. then they wouldn't have to spend money on a full rework for a RWD 2.4L. although, i'm the likely hood of it being RWD is probably not very good. so sad.
I also don't think they'll do a tacoma remake, cause they probably want this thing to drive like a car. we'll see though. I will definetly rock a SSRish scion.

edit.
I remember reading somewhere here, that toyota had bought a portion of fuji, which owns subaru. And that the replacement for tC was gonna be a toyota subaru collabo. if so, then maybe one of the next scions would have awd, even if it isn't this truck.

I absolutely, positively ABHOR Pickup Trucks.

That said, the X-Runner, and xP are the only pickup trucks I would ever consider owning if necessity dictated.

Trust me when I say this is "High Praise" coming from me and my feelings toward trucks.

the subaru buy in will be hard to see scions with awd for under 20k. but from what i hear it'll be the top of the line scion a few years from now.

I think that Scion/Toyota needs to equip the TC and the XP with higher HP engines, and better trani

the TC and the XP should be the 2 future performance vehicles comming from the Scion line, and the perfornace match if possible other cars out there like the Lancer Limited, EVO, STI even the VW GTI, Honda's S2K, WRX, MR2

I know the price will be higher...but for better performance why not...

I know that Scion are market towards younger people and inexpensive, but Scion could make a performance TC/XP for those who wish to buy one with more under the hood...

They make a tuner TC (which has nothing on it, the sun roof dont even open no cruse control either, and hobcaps on the rims so why not make a performance TC (can be seen in the Scion books) I think they call it a Canvas car or something

The supercharger was a great addition but only produced 200HP...

I love my TC I hope the next generation TC is as beautiful as the 2004-2008 !

I wish the era of the twin turbo will come back! like Transformers and Flat Tops and Night Rider...

AWD can be had for less than 20k.

I think the main thing for scion is potential, you get a car with the potential to be more. the 2.4L seems so far to be an engine with great potential. you buy the canvas, and build it up from there.

with that said though, i've said it before here, i personally don't think a 25k-30k scion is out of the question. scion isn't about volume anyways. kids drive Lexus IS's, EVO's, STi's and the like. so it isn't out of the question at all.

Why not make a Scion tC S version something like that with beefed up or bigger motor. Better handling and etc.
