I don't honestly think you will see pop-ups, James.

The advertising supporting the site has been here for a long time.

Yes - but the way darren had it and the way someone else could load it up is two different things.

I'm just saying that the new owners are smarter than that, and will try not to do anything that will alienate the members. They understand where the value of the site is.

If you take a look at the other sites they own, you'll see that these bad things did not happen there. I found similar threads as this on greenhybrid.com, for instance, but in visiting several sites, I didn't see a single pop-up or spyware and most of them had their ads laid out exactly like Sl does now.

Although they are incorporated, it seemed to me like a small group of people with good ideas, not a headless corporate behemoth that most think of when terms like this are tossed out.

The feel of this community comes more from the members than the owner of the site. That shouldn't change with a change in ownership. Enthusiast vs. business, a business has more to lose so keeping SL going strong could be more important to a business than an enthusiast. And to really get down to it, I don't think Darren has ever actually owned a Scion, has he? Yet he's done an awesome job here.

Just my 2 cents, but I think this will be a good thing.

TheScionicMan, First off thanks for taking the time to check out some of our sites and recognizing the integrity of Internet Brands. Internet brands is more then excited to have added ScionLife to the family and as you may see, we picked up a number of the leading sites in each auto-area. If you take a look at at our other sites you will see that nothing has changed for the most part, not even the management and this is just the case with ScionLife. We acquired it because of its current management and structure.... thus it will stay the same and we will help it to continue to grow with our resources and by the communities desires. Feel free to PM me if you have any direct questions.

no axing will be done. vendors will continue to be treated just as it is, as expected to follow the rules set forth.

Hi, Ryan! Thanks for dropping in and saying a few words. :D

It was nice chatting with Stan the other day on the conference call, too, and answered a lot of questions.

Well, i hope this works out for the best. ive seen some sites tank hard in this situation, but then again the company took over managment and ran it their own way.. im glad they didnt do that.

I noticed on the first page Thomas said something about this change already happened..

Was it just the change of ownership? because i havent noticed a change in speed of the site, in fact it unusually slow tonight.

No, I was just referring to the change in ownership being past history - the server upgrades and such haven't happened yet.

tell them to improve the "search" engine. Make it search for what i typed in the little box, not just the word. Also, people need to "TITLE" their topics a little better, so that people searching can find what they are looking for. ex. Look what i got!!! that, is not very helpful. Make it that you must choose from a list the title of the topic. Make a LONG list, so we can choose correctly what the topic is about for easier searching. That would be great. And hire someone to fix all the posts and change the title to something that relates to that topic of discussion. I would do it, if i could.
