Hey Guys!
I actually live (and work at a Toyota Dealer) in Woodstock, ON, Canada where they are going to be building the Ravs (plant is actually WAYYY ahead of schedule too).
From what ive been told, this plant will also be producing the next generation xB for America (no word on Canadian releases though) to be apperaing in early 08.
Ive been told the next gen xB could be arriving on the Rav platform and will be receiving the 2.4 Camry motor that the base Rav gets (which ironically is the 2.4 thats in the tC too).
Also on that note, about 30 mins east of me at TMMC in Kicthener, ON (Where they currently produce the Vibe/Matrix/Corolla and Lexus SUV) will be moving its Matrix/Vibe/Rolla line to the new Woodstock plant here and only build the SUV's at TMMC.
With the Rav to be built here and the Matrix/Vibe/Corolla moving here as well, does that mean the next gen Matrix/Corolla (Im hearing GM is dropping the Vibe from its line-up) should also be arriving on the Rav4 platform (with a 2.4 going into the Corlla and Matrix too?)
Putting the pieces together, im speculating that the Rav4, Matrix, Corolla and probably the new xB will all apear on the same platform and all comming with the 2.4 (with the 3.5 remaining an option on the Rav)
On a side note, the XRS version of the Rolla and Matrix willbe dropped from the line-up completely for 2008...

Oh, to add a little bit of 'possibility' to the xB 'rumour' I just posted, I was just told by one of the heads here at the dealership that the new plant will (as I mentioned) by producing the Rav4, Matrix, Corolla and '...another vehicle will be announced later this year in the fall...'
...does that hint at the xB being this 'another vehicle'?
