Spy Shot of 2008 Scion xB

The more I look at it, the more I wonder if this is some sort of custom kit car.
I mean, I see people do 'Golith's' all the time (home made Hummers on Sierra 4x4 platforms)...I wonder if someone liked the Scion shape so much that they customd one onto some other platform???
Ive seen some pretty horrific things on beaterz.com and other sites like that....

I'm hoping for the best. Best case, some idiot out there is laughing at all of our coments because he sucks at customizing and we think it's bad engineering. The thing looks like a nightmare! It's like buying a long bed pick up on purpose. Maybe there is a reason for wanting it (although highly unlikely) but it's still ugly.

the reason i'm so interested in what Scion has planned i've passed up going back to toyota three times in the past two years. though it would be a promotion so they say i wouldn't want to be looking from the other side thinking what might have been. i've been with Toyota for 5 years and 3 years with Scion and it took a lot of work to get Scion where its at in my district. plus the only way i would get free trips from toyota is if i had the gm or gsm position, new car managers get didly squat.

So, everyone save up to by the final release series...or the new '08s. Scion will stick to the 3 models so don't worry.

However, I wouldn't mind more power/bigger engine but I hope the gas mileage dosen't go down the tubes either. (Perhaps the 1.8 from the corolla?)

so Scion was a HUGE success because they brought over 2 JDM vehicles that weren't available here in the US, and followed it up with a slightly modified Euro-only car... so, to follow up on their success, they decide to "americanize" it and bring out a bigger, heavier, plusher mommy-mobile. all I'd ask would be for the current edition bb w/ the 1.8 140hp engine shoved in it. keep the weight the same, and "presto", instant hit.

Did you notice that the wheel covers on that test mule xB are the SAME covers that come on the Release Series 3.0 Envy Green xB?
It would make some sense if Toyota put the 2.4 in the xB. It would better compete with the Caliber, HHR, and the new Mazda CX7 (maybe).
Honestly, though, the 1.8 from the Corolla with dual VVTi would be an INCREDIBLE engine. Bump that torque and HP way up there.
Oh, and some major criticism that I get from potential customers is that there ISN'T enough room behind the second row for stuff like baby carriages, suitcases, and sports equipment, especially if the car is full of people.

You know, it's not like most xB buyers give a crap about the Matrix. They want the xB for all the reasons why YOU do, but have different needs. I think that Scion can modify the xB AND keep it unique and special.
Just because someone has different needs doesn't mean they can't enjoy the xB like you all do, too.

I can't imagine Scion won't have any offerings other than the tC as an ’07 model, as in they'd leave a gap between 2006 and 2008 models (kinda like Mazda did with the 1998 Miata — there wasn't a 1998 Miata!).
Like DiStUrBeD_AzN said, I'd think the xA and xB are selling too well to just erase them fron the lineup in 2007 without a replacement. My guess is both will just carry over.
