Tanner Foust to drift 2009 Scion tC
#27
If you happen to watch the show SUPERCARS EXPOSED you'd know that "Foxy" has proven he can drive just about anything he gets in. This will be a big boost for the Scion/Toyota having two tC's in Formula D.
Let’s hope that Toyota gets the "message" and decides on making the tC's successor an I4 RWD, with TRD optional Turbo. Quit messing about Toyota, your car lineup needs a "SPORTY" car.

Yea we need a sporty factory turboed car Toyota. Hope your listening. But Foust shouldnt have a problem with driving the tC. I saw Gushi go up against Hubinette at Breaking Point at Evergreen Speedway and he was having clutch problems but was able to decently keep up with that said. Gushi can get that car going perfectly fine. And Foust has won 2 championships so i think he can handle this.

I'm not sure why some are so critical of Gushi and the RS*R. The drivetrain in that car is totally different from what came in it from the factory. So of course they're gonna have problems pulling parts from 3 different cars (tC, Avensis, MR2/Celica/Caldina). Everyone wants a RWD tC so getting more of them converted and being driven by top drivers should make people excited about what Toyota could have up their sleeve.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!! A proven winner in a Scion. Tanner Foust could be looking at this as a new challenge? Hasn't he already proven himself with the 3.5L V-6? What if he can prove himself again with an I4? For me it's mind boggling and look forward to next season!

I am glad to see it and I think it does fit Scion's image. It was supposed to be youth oriented-oldies don't know drift.
Here is the problem I see-the tC is already long in the tooth as far as being the same car for so many years already. Now they are going to RWD for competition.
They don't sell a rear wheel drive scion so you can't go buy that car. People get excited and then go buy a nissan s14, 15 etc.
It promotes the tC-the tC should probably be completely re-designed in the next year or two anyway-ala the 'Fuze'-so get them watching and then lead them into watching the RWD Scion Fuze (if they don't build it-or something like it-then it is all a misguided promotional game)
