that looks pretty hot C, is the Aygo about the same size as the 2dr Smart, or is it just an illusion.

It's an illusion. It's much longer and wider.
I'd say the Aygo is about 3/4 feet longer and 2/3 feet wider

that's good, a 4dr that small is TOO small, even for EU

very small....not sure how it would fit in here in the US, but then we'll see what happens when the Smart goes on sale too. Still looks cool with the body kit...

Cool. Maybe I'll buy three or four and stack them in my garage for winter.

I like the lack of an outer antenna, it's built into the glass like an xB

Default Aygo v Smart

Aygo is 134 inches long, 64 wide and 58 high. The Smart in the photo is 98 inches long, 60 wide and 61 high, but the 2007 model is a few inches longer and wider. Toyota have done a good job at squeezing in an extra two seats and doors into those 36 inches, but the back seat is best for kids and the trunk is tiny unless you fold down the rear seat.

The Aygo is great as a city car, and my wife loves hers - great for trips to the supermarket and running the kids to school. Its not too bad on longer journeys - longest trip I have done in it was 270 miles on the European equivalent of a freeway. Most of my driving is in my 157 bhp Honda Stream and there is no way that the Aygo is going to be as fast or as comfortable as that. But I was pleasantly surprised - it cruised quite happily at 85mph, handled well, is not too noisy, and is generally good to drive. Fuel economy is great - better than 50 mpg - important when you are paying European prices, and it scores well in the Euro NCAP ratings - four out of five stars.

I have driven a Smart and the Aygo is much better - the transmission is far smoother, the ride less bouncy, and the handling generally better. It also has those extra two seats, which make it much more useful.

^^ Where do you live?

And yes I agree, besides isn't the Smart much more expensive than the Aygo? Just because it's a Benz and Swatch merge mah!

Default Smart v Aygo

Just outside London, UK.

Aygo costs Ł6700-9000 here depending on model. Smart costs between Ł6800 and 12700.

Yeah, I stopped complaining about the price of gas here for like a month after I got back from Italy, with 2,50/l prices for gas!
