it's called VHT Nite Shades. its a transparent black spray. i dunno how it works but it does. and costs about $15

Finally DIY smoked tails done right (that I have seen). I saw this white FOcus (eww) with smoked tails and the black vinyl covering was on the bumper cuz whoever cut the vinyl didnt cut it right.

well i messed up on the 3rd brake light at first so i just put paint thinner to it and it came off.... but that was after one coat. right now there are about 6 coats on the 3rd brake light and 4 coats on the left & right. but i'm sure if you work at it some thinner will take it off with more coats.

I masked everything off extremly well. my trunk area for the most part was blue from the masking tape. i did the left and right first with the hatch open. and then finished off the 3rd brake light with the hatch closed.
