Default 55W and 35W HID bulbs

Im wondering if the 35w hid bulbs can be used on a 55w hid kit. i have read that it is the same bulb and can be interchanged and i have read that they are not interchangeable. anyone have thoughts on this?

sure i dont see why not, cause its the ballast that controls the wattage, either way the bulb wont last as long with a 55 watt kit any how,the bulb is the bulb you need a ballast the work it,i suggest you google or research this cause you will get mixed answers with this

Unless there are 55w specific bulbs that I don't know of, all bulbs are the same.
As my06tc said the ballast is what's rated at 35w or 55w.
The life of the bulb will be shorter on a 55w ballast compared to a 35w.

Most if not all generic made in China HID kits use a universally accepted plug type called an AMP connection.
So you aren't limited to buying bulbs from the same seller you bought your HID kit from.
