Default Aftermarket headlights baked and opened

I am planning to add some leds and do a retrofit to my aftermarket headlights. I opened one up to see the projector size so that I know which projector size I should buy. I heard a lot of complaining about the cut off, so since I have the lamp open, I took some images for people who want to fix the cut off.

This is the photo taken from the top of the projector. see the metal piece? that is the cut off. Imagine youself looking at the lip of a spoon, you'll see your face upside down. So same thing here, the cut-off is place at the bottom, so when lights projects, the metal piece cut off the top. to fix it, you'll just have to unscrew the proejctor and rotate the metal piece. You need to understand that the metal piece is screwed in along with the projector, so you'll have to cut a small chips next to the original hole (of the metal piece) so that you have room to rotate the metal piece

Good luck if you're going to fix it. As for me, I'm gonna work on the retrofit and do some interior modification

I gotta shower and head to bed now. See yaa

Would it be possible to replace those projectors all together with say TSX ones? Does anyone know what the diameter of those projectors are?

of course its possible with a little know how

. the smallest projectors that look similiar to the one already installed are either the tsx projector or s2000 projectors. your best bet to find the correct projector to measure the ones you already have and find a comparable one. head over to hid planet i pretty sure someone has posted projectors and their dimensions

Subscribing.

I would suggest to check out hid planet too, but their site is on a new server, and the whole forum is new (topics, members, everything...).

I did have the oem projector spec sheet saved somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

About the orange reflector, I remember seeing a post here where the guy blacked out the reflector, and put a bunch of LED's in them. It looked very nice!

The diameter is about 3" and the length is about 6.5" to 7".

projector looks alot like the ones used in the TYC assemblies. Is that crystal clear lense? I bet a valeo would fit perfectly in there. The tsx might be wide enough to where youll have to do some trimming.

I removed the projector,

Here is two photos:

base on the dimension provided above, does anyone (especially those who have done retrofit before) have any recommendation as to what HID projector would fit? and where would I get them.

thanks

If i get the projector alone, what type of HID converter should I look for. I mean.... the converter has the HID bulb in different sizes, such as H1, H3, etc. but these HID projectors either accept D2S or D2R. So where can I get a HID converter to convert 9006 to either D2s or D2R?

thanks
