^^^^ You don't want to draw too much current. This will result in too much heat (yes, LED's can produce heat, although not that much) and eventually burn out.

 

Yeah I understand that, but i am still confuse on why did you use 12.2 for the Vs. I tested the wire and the reading was 12.7. I tested three times, and it gave me the same reading. could it be that my volt meter is off? Where did you get 12.2 from? This is very important because it creates a significant offset in Ohm

 

That's no problem. Do a test with the car off, and a test with the car running.

12.7V means you would need a 175ohm resistor as you stated. You can also use a 200ohm resistor just to be safe. Nothing would really happen, your LED's may not last their full lifetime (several years).

I got my projectors yesterday, but did not get a chance to work on them yet. From what I saw, it is definitely possible to fit it in my headlights. I was working on the LEDs and got one of the headlights done, I will work on the other tomorrow and hopefully finish with the projectors by monday. Here is some pics for update:

The image did not depicted the enhancement of the angel eyes very well. I upgrade the LEDs from 3mm to superflux 11,000 mcd (twice as bright base on my judgement) I also added in the LEDs on the eyelid and the side marker. The top part of the eyelid also have a strip of LEDs, but it will be use for signal

I need your help again. I ordered these, and it won't work on scion tc or 96 prelude. It has a 9006 slot, but the lights won't turn on. Do you guys think that I need to get a wire harness or anything like that? Basically, what do I need to do to get it work?

 

maximus did a write up about how to build a harness so search for that on scionlife or just head over to hidplanet and they have prebuilt kits already made for about 40 bucks.


heres a schematic i have and used for my own setup. i recommend a 20 amp fuse though for each ballast.

 

purple tinted lenses, i heard of an aftermarket projector that's purple tinted.. i think it's tyc? i'll

 

try using reflective 3m tape on your angel eyes

 

I figured that would help, but the manufacturer designed a chrome area behind the angel eyes. So, it's not necessary. If you want it brighter, just change the LEDs because their LEDs are dim

 

Does this really apply if I wanted D2S output? scion tc has 9006 OEM, so I want ballasts that would accept the OEM 9006 on one end and output D2S bulbs to the projectors on the other end.

 

All hid bulbs requires a ballast to power up the bulbs and yes it's essential to draw power directly from the battery since the inital start up of hids require more power. The ballast draws more on start up. if you have it wired through the OEM's wire, that will cause the wires to heat up. You may think 15 seconds is a short amount of time, but it will sure damage over the long run.

Worst case scenario is having every wire up to your car fried ^^

you can buy this harness cheap at xenondepot

trust me, if your wires get fried in your car.... the amount of labor cost to gut out and put new wires in may be very high. This will not be covered in the warranty since ofcourse

so do not plug your OEM 9006 plug into that ballast if you want to protect your investment
