Default To all that have the OEM ground effects

I have a question about OEM lip kit installation. I bought a used kit from someone on SL. It didn't come with any of the install hardware. After about 5 weeks of trying to get my hands on the hardware (clips and such), I found what I was looking for. However, the rubber weatherstripping seemed to come in like strips. Is that the way it comes? I would have though it was a long strip that went across the entire bumper. I don't know for sure. I was thinking when they took the lipkit off the car, it got torn to pieces. Is there a way to install the lip kit without the rubber weatherstripping ? What purpose does the weatherstripping serve? I was thinkin about getting the front lip molded. This may be my only choice if I can't get the weatherstripping. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks!

molding the kit will cost a good chunk, Al
the weather stripping (that i think your talking about) is gonna help water from getting inbetween the body parts and well, sitting and destroying the pieces (yes it happens over time)
is the weather stripping on the bumper pieces or sideskirts?

The sideskirts are direct replacement. I am talkin about the weatherstripping for the front and rear lip. I think its main purpose is to make sure the lip and bumper don't rub and scrape against each other. I am almost 100% positive it isn't there to secure the lip to the bumper. Thats what the clips are for. Maybe I'm totally wrong and it is supposed to come in strips. I need people to chime in and let me know. I need to know what my options are. I found a bodyshop to install the whole kit for under 100. I'll ask how mich he would mold the front for.

Hes a friend of a friend, so we'll see if he can cut some cort of break....and you're rigth, it would look hot to mold the front. I might just go ahead and do it, if I can get a decent price on it. I don't like how you can see the weatherstrippin on these lip kits (especially on light colors.)

the weather stripping is for keeping as much water out as possible and ALSO to keep from having an ugly gap the whole way down your lip kit. it makes it look even and no gaps

i would assume you coud go to a local hardware store like homedepot or lowes or soemthing and find just a rubble molding that can just slip over the top edge...go check it out, if not, head over to your local scion dealership and see if they have the stuff you need? who knows you might get lucky

I've already tried Dave. Part not available. How stupid is that? Josh from Sparks miraculously got me a set of the clips I need. Now I find out the weatherstripping that came with my kit is torn to shreds basically. Even if I used it, I don't know which pieces go where.

i dont have the lip kit but im pretty sure if you can find some that are like the broken stuff you have, it should work the same way. chekc out a hardware store and show them what you have and see if they can find someting similar.

if not i'll see if i can...um....requisition some from my work and send it to you lol. assuming it will work, i'll check on a buddy's car.

That would be freakin awesome. You know someone with the weatherstripping? You work at a dealer?
