Default anyone know how to wire these fog lights... **UPDATE**

just for the record, i know squat about wiring.

i got these VRD like fog lights... i can figure out the switch, form what i can tell there is a positive and negitive wire on the relay thing (???) pic 1

and then there is a pos and neg on the switch(pic 2) , when i put both pos to a pos terminal on my test battery and both neg to neg, the do light up, but the switch does work, there wont turn off by it...

can some one tell me what im doing wrong

one of the pos should be connected to the battery to power the relay, and the other to the switch so that the switch controls the relay... take a pic of the whole harness and maybe i can tell you which is which... also take a pic of the lights, "vrd-like" makes me nervous.....

Let us see the whole package. Kind of strange seeing ring terminals like that, especially since I see a OEM looking foglight switch.

I think he has the switch connected to the 7pin (i think?) connector

but yeah..definitely more pics..my set only had the one spade terminal for the groundwire

sorry don't have any pics of it off the car but I used the DIY for the OEM fogs in the tech section and my fogs (ebay vrd/apt) came with basically the same hardware as OEM

if you get pics of the whole harness strung out it will help seeing pieces of it doesnt tell us where pieces of the circuit are. the ring terminals obviously go to the battery. But i cant see the rest

yea.. i hated the setup they had...
(one of my buddies bought those things last week... and i helped install them)

damn thing wants to wire up another wire thru the firewall into the cabin (it'd be that white wire on the main harness)

i said efff that.. cut that damn thing apart and wired it up my own way using the stock wiring that's already there.. wired the main harness's power to the stock fog wiring and ground to the chassis. two connections to the outside harness for power and ground.. nothing more.

and rigged up the relay box inside, tapping wires into the plug inside the the car that's made for the optional fogs to plug into... and wired the switch accordingly as well.

plug and play my butt... those fogs suck.
and that fog switch is pretty ugly too. lights up a halogen-ish yellow.

oh and the top positive terminal (the one in line with the fuse holder) thats labeled "to power source" needs to be connected directly to the battery while the other one you can tap the fuse box or use some other way to get power

as i mentioned already before.. i've already done the install using that crappy setup and modifying it to install better.

i cut and rewired/hooked up the relay to the stock oem fog plug behind the switch panel... and just tapped the remaining fog light harness to the stock fog light wire in the driver fender, and grounded the other wire to the chassis.

discarded the fuse as the car has a 15A fuse already for the fogs.. for the stock wiring that's ALREADY there.

you want details on what you need to do so you don't have to run that stupid white wire thru the firewall? or should i just tell you to try to return those lights you got?
