i was reading somewhere earlier about resealing the boot before you install them. do you really have to and if so what did you guys do? im thinking about ordering me a set really soon. im debating if i should have to cut my lip too in order for them to fit. with that gab im afraid water is going to get behind it and short out something.

I don't know about resealing them but I don't recall ever really doing anything with the boots on mine? I think I remembered taking them off to check something then putting them back on..haven't had any issues and I've had my fogs on through some pretty heavy rain and nasty puddles.

Hope that helps a bit

Mine fogged up some one time, so i took them out and put some electrical tape across the back to help seal them up some more, then put the boot back on. Havent had any problems since. Plus they would fog up but as soon as i turn them on it would go away and I have them on all the time anyways.

im doing my install tomorrow for these lights and i silicone'd that rubber cover in the back. Darn thats cheap looking. Can really tell when something is lower quality but i guess for $100 .... yea. Anybody else find that weird? Also, the breather hole w/ the L fitting, leave that open right?

Also, some people are saying they cut their bottom lip to make things fit - some said they didnt .... how is it possible there are two answers like this? Feedback please. I only have till tomorrow AM

You just have to use force to get them in over the lip.

I just did my install - i didnt have to force anything over my lip on the 2005 tC. I dunno but i didnt have any issues. Only thing I didnt like was the cheap rubber piece that goes over the bulb. I used a ton of silicone and sealed the back rubber piece and also put it anywhere i thought water was going to get in from the front or under the car (i used a good amount because it didnt matter to me what it looks like from the back side).

look on trdsparks, it is the exact same as the OEM fog lights except for the placement. Which is simple enough, just pop out the side grille things and put the fogs in.

OK i Had this same problems a while back. I got my lights and 2 weeks ago after putting silicone around the bulb, taping the boot and even zip tieing that biatch I still managed to get water on the passanger side light, a small drop of water but it is still in there. Ok and yea I have mine installed with the trd lip kit. I put the red 3m tape around the vrd casing and measured where it touched the bumper I put that tape in every nook and cranny that I could find! Till this day that baby is in there good. As Far as the water goes, I did my ghetto menuever by taping and cutting 3 Q-tips together. Makeing a super indestructible Q-tip lolz. Then I reach in that corner after removing the little rubber gasket that leads to the top hole, and bam! the q-tip picked up the condensation and drops of water in the light! lolz it is raining 2 day, I let you know how it turns out. And Y did I do that, well I did not want to remove the whole light lolz and retape everything again.

I have never gotten actual rain water in mine, I have gotten some condensation in there in the morning when it is colder but it goes away as soon as i turn them on. I havent had that problem though for awhile and it has pretty much rained a lot in the last month.

Yea it was condensation in mine, what happened was that that condensation could not evaporate because it was in the far corner of the light. So at first i took a blow dryer and the condensation formed a few drops of water so I was thinking and came up with my brilliant plan that hell actually workd to soak up that few drops of water and clean the condensation inside that wont leave...

yea, i really dont care if i get some condensation every now and then. People complain about that but hell they are only $100 and look a lot better than the OEM ones.

^well they are saying that because you dont want water mixed in with the cars electric. THere is a breather hole in the back so there shouldnt be any water if the back piece is sealed up and only the breather hole is open.
