I have the weathertech units. They are nice because they fit in the window channel and don't rely on tape to stay in place. I assume the AVS units use tape since that is all I've seen them use which in a few days, weeks, months, depending on how well you prep'd the surface for application, will fall off. I don't know what they mean about the mirrors. I have no issues with mine and them mirror. They are sweet though and low enough profile that they don't disturb the lines of the car. Is that what you were looking for?

i have AVS inchannels never really had a problem jus the sticky tape thing that came wit it sucked i didnt prep it right so i had to use sum glue stick and glue where the tape was and installed and voila! i love my AVS they look damn sexy. one problem with inchannels is that getting the windows up at first is gonna take sum getting use to whie it settles on there. but basically jus keep ur windows up for a bit and the automatic window upper things wont work unless u hold the buttons to close the window but thats at first right now mine havent had a problem for the past 2 yrs thats ive had it.

I have the weathertech in channel visors. I never had a problem with the windows. It just makes a cracking of plastic sound when you roll them up for the first few days, but after that, it's fine. I think what you mean with the mirror thing is that the weathertechs have a curve at the end that comes all the way down to the black door molding, and I'm not sure if the AVS does or not.

heres the pros on weathertechs: no double sided tape needed to apply, goes around the whole window, looks clean. cons: in time it starts to break loose and the cracking sound. for the AVS theres two types, inchannel and outchannel, i had the outchannel and they sucked so my opinion the pros are they are cheap and cons are that the double sided tape suck, they dont cover the whole window, and when the tape starts to die out it flaps around

i saw some vent visors for our cars on ebay that uses double sided tape in the inchannel instead outside the weather stripping like most cheapo visors. im thinking about trying out those.

my weathertechs over time have lost their ability to stay all the way into the channel. They sag now and need viagra.
Also, when I was installing some other pairs, I did have a pair break on me when the crack sound came from the actual cracking of the piece that goes in the channel

x2. Both of my WeatherTechs cracked on me. passenger side broke on the day of the install. They are mad tight. I rolled the window up slowly, heard a crack and sure enough the inner channel piece snapped. So I had to get it replaced. then the driver side began going limp in the channel and eventually the window broke it to. So I said screw weather tech and chucked them in the trash.
