Black Grillcraft grill installed without stock grill!! PIX
#43
If I was going to keep my car totally stock (appearance wise) I'd be ok removing my front plate. I drove for about 5 years without one in Cali and about 1.5 years without one in Washington. In Cali, I got pulled over twice and got tickets both time, but they were for speeding, which I was completely guilty of and nobody ever said anything about the missing plate. If they're being jerks and don't like the look of your car, they might use it as an excuse to stop you, but a cop is hardly going to walk in front of your car when you're stopped for anything else - really bad idea. Anyway, since I'm going to tint the windows and possibly do other things, I'll be keeping my front plate, but if I wasn't going to make things a little flashy, I'd lose it. Stupid plate...

Plus if you do have something they can give you a fix-it ticket for you may not get in trouble for what they actually pulled you over for. Ive been lucky on those. Twice Ive gotten a fix-it ticket when I could have easily gotten a traffic violation. Rather pay $10 and have no points on my record.

Overall, I love this product. it makes my tC look very different. I've already gotten compliments from a couple of strangers since i installed it yesterday. In my opinion I think this grill is worth it.

ya know....i'm just not feeling that grill. if the lower matched it prolly would be different. but two different grills just shout "homemade". no disrespect intended but the lower matching is key.

It does look good but needs to match the bottom. I know you said your lower one is coming in.
Grillcraft should listen to what people have been saying since the tC came out.
Why don't they make it with a frame around it for the top one? Why not make it so things behind the grill, i.e. horns/wires, wouldn't be seen? This is what the majority of people here are asking for. Make it, price it right, people will buy it.

I don't understand why you think the lower one doesn't match. They sell them seperately, but you can get the lower one and it looks good. The missing brackets on top is a problem - some of us live in apartments and don't really have any place to work fabricating things. Plus if I'm going to pay over $100 for a piece of bent metal with holes punched in it, I expect it to include all the parts I'd want. Grillcraft should charge an extra $5 and include everything so you can mount it easy on top of your stock grill or do a few more steps and remove the stock grill entirely.
