Default Car + Giant Tree Branch = torn weatherstripping

Well, long story short, I nailed a limb from a giant fallen tree branch over Rt. 8 South yesterday just north of Butler, Pa. The smack was huge, but I figured if my windshield wasn't broken and with a glass roof, everything would be fine. Guess not...

So anyone know have any experience with replacing the weather stripping? Should I go to the dealership or to a windshield place? hmmm...it'd be an interesting insurance claim, but I assume it's cheaper than my $100 deductible.

Tree branch +1

You 0

Yeah I would try a windshield repair place. Use the dealership as a last resort!

I did the same thing, but instead of a branch it was my ice scraper. Tucked some of it back under the glass, after a little prying in the spring i got it back out and its all good but that looks worse than mine

PITA! Turns out they have to remove the windshield to fix it, which makes it between $215-250 to fix... Also, since I hit a fallen tree branch, I'm not sure if it is a collision claim or a comp claim... So I may just have to pay the whole cost if I want it fixed... It just sticks out like a sore thumb though. Maybe I'll try the butle idea above before getting it repaired.,,, Well, could've been a ton worse!
