Does anyone have any pics of the Kaminari reverse cowl hood in carbon fiber? I'm really interested in it but what are you supposed to do when it rains; is there something to cover it up so you don't a ton of water in the engine bay?

I know i have a box, but...yeah.

And to reply about the track comment, they do require pins which is why i have pins. If you do get a CF hood i strongly recommend Vis Racing, very high quality. Thats who makes mine.

enjoy
i'm not into lowered cars anymore, to much to worry about during daily driving. i love the way those stock 18's look with no drop. i think i'm going to be grabbing some 18's down the road.

carbon fiber hood is still a maybe for me. cops over here like to pay real close attention to people with carbon fiber hoods and/or exhausts. but they do look really nice though.

Interesting....I went to the Vis site and for the tc they list the hood as for offroad only. Carbon fiber hoods aren't illegal on the street, are they?

Companies must list products like these as offroad use only so it takes the blame off of the company if in the event something were to happen. Vis recommends hood pins even if you don't track it because of the weight difference. You don't really need pins unless you drive high speeds or go to tracks. Tracks recommend pins, atleast autocross and road course ones do. Well, the tracks i've been to only require them if you have light weight products such as a CF hood, has to be street legal so on so forth.

So to answer your question, technically yes they are illegal. But i've never known anyone to get pulled over or get a ticket for a cf hood.

Thanks, I was sceptical about buying the hood too, but then one of my friends offered it to me because he bought a new blue colored CF hood for his AP tc. So I threw the hood on and was very impressed with the way it looked. I think that it complements the factory RS graphite grilles and rims. As for lowering, Im thinking about it but the roads here are real crappy so im leaning towards a no.
