Default carbon fiber question

Im about to buy a seibon VS2 hood off of somebody in town but it has a couple of small chips in the clear from when a rock hit it while he was driving, about how much am I looking at to get this thing looking good again? Im new to carbon fiber and was just wondering if it is worth it. thanks for the help!

like everyone else will say you have to take it to a shop and see every shop is different with prices also depends on what it needs is it just the clear or is it the fiber too

How big is the chip? Sounds like you would pay a lot to get the thing cleared for a few small chips? When I get chips in my front lip, I use clear nail polish. It keeps it from splitting more and it doesn't do a bad job at matching the clear. I say save your money and live with it cause it's bound to happen again.

I'm with you, it's bound to happen again, huge waste of money.

Unless of course the clear-coat is super faded as I've seen on a lot of hoods around, some correction might be in order.

Actually I'm buying it off of someone in town who had it on his TC and it only lasted four days before getting hit by a rock that caused quite a bit of scratches but it didn't reach the fiber, he only wants 150 for it, so think its worth it? Or would I pay too much to get it recleared to where I could just buy a new one?

You seem really hesitant already for some reason so I'm just going to say not to buy it, I can't imagine you buying a new one and getting a rock chip either, it happens man, your stock hood is probably loaded with them too, it happens.

My Kami CF hood is used, with a pretty sizable rock chip in the cowl, but man it happens, it'd have happened to me too, oh well.
