Default CF hood fittament

I'm debating buying the hood found here and I was wondering if anyone running a similar hood is having any problems with fittament or warping from heat or any sort of vibration from the wind being able to get up and under the hood or any other problems in general.

Thanks.

Which one are you looking into? I have the Fiber-FX oem c/f hood and its nice. Good fitment. They wont warp form heat. My brother is running the Kaminari c/f which is insanly nice. Pricy though.

The one I'm looking at is linked in the original post, "The Scion tC Carbon Fiber Hood from Racing Solution". I guess theyre making their own? I should really look into whos manufacturing theirs I guess .

Just curious, what makes the Kaminari hood so much nicer, in your opinion? Besides the fact it costs a ton :p

Thanks.

I've got the MotorFx hood. It fits well and I haven't had any problems with warping. I have noticed the hood wiggles a bit at high speed (90+).

theyre not making their own, its the Motor FX one and it fits pretty great! there's a little bit of gap, but only a slight difference from stock. And the hood will wiggle because it is so much lighter and not reinforced like the stock hood

That's what I figured. Light weight hood + aerodynamic lift = wiggle. I suppose that's the purpose of hood pins, to help prevent that.

most manufacturers reccommend hood pins. Ive seen pix of hoods that broke loose and smashed the windshield.

pins are pretty cheap and you can install them yourself which will take like 5 - 10 minutes

The locking ones are a little trickier. but they look way better than those big silver ones.

I have the double vented one and it fits pretty well. It does vibrate under high speeds but just make sure you latched it all the way down.

You have a link to something like these? I'd appreciate it.
