I believe the cf hoods technically don't have a clear coat, they have a uv clear gel coat over them that will fade over time and look nasty. You are probably going to have to get it cleared so one it will look better and two it will hold up better.

A rough price is around $200-300 to sand it down, clear it then hopefully they'll sand and buff / compound out any imperfections that may arise during the process.

Everybody I know that has had a CF has had problems with it change color. Any qualified bodyshop should be able to sand it down and reclear it.

Yea it sucks because no matter how much you wax it, it will eventually fog up like that unless it is garage kept, which will extend the life. That is the main reason I never got one because I always park out in the sun.

Dont be afraid to buy a CF hood cause you think itll fog. If you want one, buy one, and have it clearcoated. It might fog in a few years, but you'll have moved on vehicles or hoods by then.

My hood started to fog, and it actually buffed off with a cutting compound, but it was only a temp fix. Sand it, and get it recleared

^^True but I dont want to pay 400+ for a new hood then have to pay another 100-200 to get it recleared.
