CF hood getting whitish spots/?
so i had my cf hood for 2 years now on my tc, its a seibon one.. and after keeping up with it, with waxes washes etc... its beginning to get kinda spotty??? like sorta greyish white??? whats that mean? is it the clear coat fading?

I believe the cf hoods technically don't have a clear coat, they have a uv clear gel coat over them that will fade over time and look nasty. You are probably going to have to get it cleared so one it will look better and two it will hold up better.

ahhh hell! ha but thanks! i wondered why it began to "turn" sooo fast... so what do they do then to it? if its uv gel? do they sand it? then clear it??? or what??? fairly easy process @ the body shop?

Yea it sucks because no matter how much you wax it, it will eventually fog up like that unless it is garage kept, which will extend the life. That is the main reason I never got one because I always park out in the sun.

Dont be afraid to buy a CF hood cause you think itll fog. If you want one, buy one, and have it clearcoated. It might fog in a few years, but you'll have moved on vehicles or hoods by then.
My hood started to fog, and it actually buffed off with a cutting compound, but it was only a temp fix. Sand it, and get it recleared
