Default Antenna

I actually have a Lexus RX330 antenna on my tC. I couldn't stand the factory one...way too long!!

I have yet to see an antenna that looks better than the stocker.
If you got one, post a pic.

Default Better Antenna

I'll try my best to take a pic today and post for you. It's a much 'cleaner' look in my opinion.

Any shorty antenna - short of something powered internally, would have to affect reception.
People who say it doesn't need to pony up true signal tests...

Default Stubby Antenna

Since I have Sirius, I hardly use FM radio but when I have, there is no quality lost. It's still a Toyota part so it's going to be the same exact quality. ( I worked for Lexus for 6 years).

Also, I didn't have to 'shave' anything down when I switched to the RX antenna...it was a perfect fit.

Actually, I'm not really concerned about signal - I almost always use my iPod, but looks are important as I've not see any (IMO) better looking.

someone did do a signal test on one of the many other antenna thread.

the s2k was showing a stronger signal than stock.

Good to hear. But you do need that data to say it "doesn't degrade"
Just listening isn't real data.

Thanks for that info.

On most stations in a 50mile radious, its not even noticible. However in areas where your listening to stations 100-200 miles away, its alot more of a nuisance.

well that may well just be impossible because what you see as good isn't necissarily what everyone else thinks is good.

are you fond of short or long? thickness? motorized? color?

but then we would be getting off topic. if you would like to see what people are doing you could maybe make a "show me your antenna" thread or something.....

I posted a pic on my profile but not the best quality due to parking deck. I'll try taking a better one after lunch.

Yeah, hard to see it...
I'd also - if you could - like to see a close-up of the mounting surface to see how that ends up looking...

Thanks,
Scott
