this is from caranddriver
Mechanically, there's not quite as much to differentiate it from a V6 AWD Vue, with which it shares the Honda-designed 3.5-litre, 250 horsepower V6 and five-speed automatic. But though the Red Line is no faster in a straight line than its less-aggressive cousin (it hardly needs to be as it will happily chirp and torque-steer its way past any other compact SUV), it's a different story in the corners.

The grill appears to just be the aluminum mesh that APC and other companies sell at pepboys. cut to shape and glue/screw/ziptie on.
Looks kinda ok on that car though, wonder if they did the lower grill too.

on the contrary, gentlemen. it does have the honda engine. you'll just have to dig a little for the facts. besides, don't be so upset. car makers, do this all the time. its part of an overall market strategy to make as much money as possible without letting the "loyal" owners of rival car companies know. did you know ford and mazda are basically the same company? or that ford owns/operates land/range rover/ jaguar/whovever else there may be. just look on some of the major automaker websites and you'll see. besides maybe the VIBE was just jealous of the TRD reputation. "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

this is def true. car makers do this alot. another example is the geo prizm, or now the chevy prizm. This car is the same as a toyota corolla. When u pop the hood u see toyota written on everything, even the engine. If u go inside the car it looks almost identical to the corolla of the same year. My dad bought a 92 dodge caravan that had a mitsu engine in it. Companys r doing this now, because people r loyal to these american companies but they want the car to last alil longer. Truth is that most situations u better off buying an import. Combining the two leads to problems most of the time.

the vibe is built on the same assembly line as the corolla. the vibe is actually engineered by Toyota in a joint effort with GM. GM designed only the exterior and is in control of marketing the Vibe. If you strip down the outer panels and interior, the Corolla Matrix and Vibe are very similar and share many components.
