yes, silverstars are dot approved. you can find them at any auto parts store. they sell them in both high and low beam flavors. see the link above for bulb sizes.

yeah they are the low beams and they cost me $35 at walmart. They are DOT approved but I was not worried about that, what I was worried about was the harness. I didn't want to melt mine. I'll have these until I do a retrofit on them. Just waiting to have some days off to do it, It would be my 3rd retrofit...

I have had them on my tc since 100 miles. I have both brights and standards installed. They are just simply pure white. Housings look a purpleish. 100% reccomended!

Silverstars are legal and will not burn any harness, they work off the same watts, correct me if im wrong. These are probably the standard upgrade many people get. (Soon me)=)

YES!!! exactly what they look like. =)

Had them for close to 2 months now. no problems with them at all. MUCH brighter than luminics. PepBoys is having them on sale right now for 19.99 after coupon and rebate. Looks like I'll be getting another pair tomorrow for future use! =)

okk since we're all talking about headlights which do you think would be better the silverstar or one of these two?....
The PIAA- $87.50.... http://www.shopatron.com/product/pro...PIA19616/353.0
or
Luminics- $24.95.... http://www.luminicsbulbs.com/hyper_white.php (free Shipping btw)

any opinions would be appriciated!

do not get PIAA or luminics. they both suck. luminics will melt your harness, and PIAA burns out to quick and are really expensive. i have HALO light bulbs in my car. they work perfect and have a more bluish tint to the light. i also have HALO yellows in my fogs and they light up like day... im also getting some NOKYA hyper yelllows for the highs, or maybe even some of those raybig racing green just for fun!!

For both you would need a new harness, Luminics already told me 20 bucks extra for it. Not sure how much with the other guys. Not only that, I also have been told that there is a decrease in light reflection because these bulbs rely on projection. I believe thats how it goes. Again im getting this info from reading. Also
anything more then 55w is it? will burn the harness. Luminics and all the others are inbetween..I want to go HID but still debating on price. But o well. to all their own.

You can find the pairs at Wal-Mart and AutoZone. Depending on where you go, you shouldn't pay more than $36-$39 a pair. The pairs cost cheaper than the singles. (Singles usually run about $19.99 a piece.) BTW- the pix above are correct. Don't be fooled by the second pic. (I know you might be thinking..."It looks darker then the first pic. Thus making the light whiter. ") SilverStars really do look that white.

well, there is DIY instructions in your manual. it shows a pic of you twisting the bulb in its housing and then pulling it out. i hope you can figure out the rest.
