Default DIY for cutting out the inside of the stock exhaust tip?

Have anyone done this before? I dont really like the double exhaust in one pipe.

I think he means he doesn't like seeing the "real" exhaust pipe inside the "fake" exhaust tip. It's been a while since I had the stock exhaust on, so I'm not sure, but you might be able to pull the tip off and cut the pipe a little further back so it's not as noticeable. Just a thought.

OHHHHH then u can just buy another exhaust tip, and have a shop weld it on

Like I said, I'm not sure about how the stock exhaust tip is attached, but it seems in my head that you could just just cut the pipe a few inches back from where it is now and slip the tip back on like it was, reattaching it however it was attached in the first place. Or just deal with it until you get an aftermarket piece.

just pick up a tip u like from pep boys or sumn like that and have it welded on. it'll probly be cheaper then tryin to mod the stock piece.

That sounds like a lot of trouble to just change something silly like that on the stock muffler. It may cost more but why not purchase an axel back from somewhere? I've got the megan racing axel back ($220-ish shipped) and it looks great and keeps the stock sound only adding a low hum when quickly dropping in rpms.

And that seems like a whole lot of money to spend for someone who simply wants to do about an hour and a half's worth of work. God dang, why not buy a new car while you're at it? I agree I wouldn't go to that extent to change something that you and I think is so trivial, but the guy doesn't seem to care about buying a $200+ axle-back exhaust. By the way, that's a $200+ axle-back that won't gain you anything but looks and sound, and he's only after one of those. I think a little elbow grease would be cheaper.

Actually replacing his axleback gained him 5-6 whp on the top end.

So many folks think an aftermarket s-pipe is a performance gain, when in fact you'd be lucky to gain 1whp with it, it's still just an empty pipe. And so few realize how restrictive the chambered/baffled stock muffler is. And that a straight-through muffler is a dyno-proven upgrade - not a huge increase, but a measurable gain:
