Default Door Paint Chipping

Hello and greetings. I am kind of a big guy at 6'5'' and pushing 300 pounds, so needless to say I have to open the door almost all the way up to get out of my Tc. I have accidentally banged the door into the side of my garage a few times and slightly chipped the paint on the small edge just behind the handle. Is there any small rubber slip on type of contraption that I can install on the edge of my doors to keep this from happening anymore?

Thanks for the help.

The tC has huge doors. I'm 5'8", 180, and I have trouble getting out in some tight parking spaces.

Search for door protectors on any automotive site, or they also carry them at most auto part stores.

Yep..this happened to me yesterday...my wife was getting out of the car and bam...

I searched Google and this is the best I've seen:

Is there something better or cleaner out there?

instead of the ugly plastic things from auto zone etc. you should try some of the 3m vinal that they make the clear bras out of and cut a 1/2 inch strip the length of your door and fold it around the edge..

I wanna try some cutouts of clear bra, but it wouldn't cover up all the dings I've already put in the edges of my doors. =P

how do those rubber things go on? Honestly I never liked the look of them, but if they're removable without damaging the surface I might think about it.

I found a sweet door protector at Wal Mart for like 3 bucks, it covers the most of the edge. Check it out.

I decided to just go with the door protector, because it will protect me all the time, not just in my garage. I really think this deal I got at Wal Mart was good and it protects the whole edge of the door and is hardly noticible. Only 3 bucks.
