Default Front End Mask Question

Hi guys. I'm going to the bay area this Friday and was wondering if it would be safe to use the front end mask. In the installation manual there is a warning that under hot conditions if moisture gets under the mask, fogging of the paint under the mask could occur. I'm only using the mask for one day since I'll be driving on the highway. Please let me know. Thanks.

I think you will be fine. California temperature is very very dry, so I don't believe it will be a problem. Plus you are only going to put it on for one day. I personally won't worry about it too much.

I have much hatred for car bra's. I wouldn't be worried that much about the moisture, but rather how much it will scratch your clearcoat - especially with the wind from high-speed driving. You're much better off with a clear vinyl bra. That's my opinion anyways.

I asked a question specfically about the front end mask. I didn't ask for your opinion about whether or not to own one. Thanks for your insight though.

lol OK, here ya go:

The front end mask will most likely trash the clearcoat on your car. Wind buffetting can also cause the top end of it to bounce against your hood. Some masks have weights in them which can even cause dents. I wouldn't suggest using one. EVER.

Why not just painters tape the whole front end. I dont know if you have heard of the user on YSTC, but his name is Jon (CandleJack13) and he came from michigan with his whole front end covered with painters tap. It worked well.

It's been my personal ideal to stay away from the OEM bra. I've seen first hand what it can do to your paint/clear coat.

As a separate not and not to be confused with your main question which I addressed above... ...I saw that the new Corvette's have a nylon knitted front mask. I wish someone would come out with that for the tC.
