Stephen Saporito Product is in the mold stage so there are no pictures yet. It will look factory but be smooth and made of metal.Offered in all paint match finishes plus carbon fiber look, and brushed aluminum clear coated. They can be engraved with logos, clubs ect.

Would you be able to get it engraved and painted or would the engraving only be on the brushed or unpainted finishes?

This sounds awesome, can't wait to see pictures!

Is this still happening? The reply I got in October was that they were expecting parts late November/early December. We're in the middle of January now.

I'd definitely be interested in this too. Mine isn't broken *knocking on some wood* ... but would like to get on the list for one of these more sturdy designs before murphy comes along and messes with it. lol.

I realize this part is in the development stage, etc., I don't think everyone posting here is just "in for the pics"... but more so to get an eyeball on at least a rendering of what the final product is expected to look like, therefore be much more willing to commit to signing up on the list for one.

Well, scionpro.com has lost all of my future business. "Steve" advised they would be ready by late November/early December, and we're almost done with February. No updates from them at all. Making promises you can't deliver on is completely unprofessional and shows how unreliable your business is.

Wonder where they are with this now. Mine is still fine but I would like to change it out for a more reliable piece, if this one is even more...

This.

Delays are understandable but abandoning all communication definitely raises an eyebrow for me.

I've been avoiding scion pro since like 05. I'm old school hating! But I boycott a lot of things like Google, Wal-Mart, ToyBoxRacing, ect. ect.

Just an FYI, you don't even need the strap. I just squeeze my fingers under the bottom of the trunk lid itself and lift while pressing the button under the garnish with the other hand. Been doing this for 7 years with no problem.
