Default "Full Size" LED 3rd Brake Light?

What's the deal with our 3rd brake lights?

Any plans of making a fully lit version as an aftermarket accessory?

Well, it looks allright at night... The plastic around it lights up. But still! I mean, come on... How expensive are LED's, Toyota?

I started to fill in the rest of the lens with LED's, but I ran into a problem getting it out. There are several 10mm nuts holding the lens in place, but the nuts are a bit longer than my 10mm socket. With a little more patience, and the right tools, it wouldn't take that long to make the whole thing light up.

I agree that it is a bit long to be lit up all the way. Just to much imo.

i am in the process of doing this now. i do this exact kind of work for the air force. but anyways, im ordering the leds (12v each) and wiring them in a series and itll be good to go. i plan on making a total new metal plate for them to mount on. we have a full metal shop here too in my hangar.

I have already had mine out and it would be very hard to add more lights but I am looking for some information first. I want the original section to come on and the the new lights to come on in a time delay one after another to give it a motion not just on and off. Any one know if I have to have a timer, capasitors or what?
