Default Getting tint this weekend....

As of now I have 35% tint all the way except the windshield... This weekend I'm going to get it darker... I just need some input... Leave the 35% on there and 20% over it... Or get the 35% removed and put 5% all the way... I know its illegal, I don't have a front plate(in Texas) so that's illegal too....

So which one would you guys do???

20% over 35%
or
35% removed and 5% all the way....

Thanks SL members

Have never seen tint on top of tint. My guess is that it would be hard to match the lines perfectly, and might look sloppy. I have 5% all around right now, so if you do that, just expect not to see much.

Better remove the old one first---start clean. Tint over tint is do-able on fixed window panes, but not recommended on moving/sliding windows (maybe prone to peeling?). Anyhow, if it were me, I'd start clean/new.

PS. You do know the tint limit in Texas, right? 25%.

yea, I figured it would be all right to put 2 layers like on the back but with a moving window... yea... and plus trying to match the cut would be difficult..

jurassic1:: If you read my original post, I said that it wouldn't be the only thing illegal...

And plus I don't do much night driving and backing up shouldn't be a problem since if I do go somewhere at night, a park WAYYYY out in the back of the lot with no other cars by me.. lol

Thanks guys..

Can we get a official Tint Thread or whatever started?? I know there is one already but it's been dead since forever and half the pictures in there don't work haha

Can I see a side picture of 5% all the way?? Just for reference??

Thanks again

I have 20% and I love it. Not too dark, not too light.

Looks good to me... I like when I can look at people when they drive like idiots and they can't see me looking at them haha...

And most of my friends have 5% and never been bothered... Like my friend, he has an extended cab silverado with 2.5% on the back windows and 5% on teh driver and passenger doors... and he has been like that for like a year and never been stopped for tint.. So I think i'll be good...

more 5% tint pictures are welcome lol

5% FTW

GL if you get pulled over though

Cops can bust you easily for that since you have no front plate either...

True but I have already gotten a verbal warning for no front plate and he told me to just put it on the windshield. :D .. So thats where its at now... there are suction cups holding it to the windshield so don't say I'm gonna get my head cut off if I were to get in an accident.. lol

I have the double layer tint on all but the front windshield.

5% over AZ legal 35% on the driver and passenger windows

Two layers of 5% on the fixed windows

Been like that for nearly a year with no peeling problems at all. As for the cut around the driver and passenger windows, you don't hardly notice it. Obviously mine is off by a bit at the VERY edges of the tint, but either my windows are all the way up or all the way down so... take that for what its worth, its never seen.

......i dont know about tinting?....i dont know this might just be me but, if you spend so much money especially on the exterior.wouldnt you want someone to pull aside you and admire you, rather than hiding yourself. im not trying to be a pig, but lets say a cutie pulls by you at a red light and if your face is as nice as your ride she'll start complementing you, and gives you her #. i dont think ill ever tint. WHEN I ACTUALLY START MODIFYING My CAR

Most of the time people tint their cars dark so that you can't see what's inside the car if you have a pretty modified interior so to speak.
