Default Headlight eyelid application question

I have a set of bluebatmobile’s headlight eyelids and they have a black one to apply so any light won’t shine through. My question is this: Would it make any difference if I apply the silver one on top of the black one in my house, then go outside and apply the set when it gets warm or do I have to apply the black ones to the car, then the silver ones?? Also, I’ve read 50 degrees is the minimum temperature to apply these at, but I’ve also read 60 degrees is the minimum temp…..is 50 good enough? If I was to apply the black to the car, and then the silver….how long should I wait before I apply the silver one?

I'm sure you can do it in the house. Just seems like it might be a little easier doing it on the light itself. 50 degrees should be fine. I would wait about 10-15 minutes or so before you apply the top...if you are using the soapy water technique. If you just stick them on, you don't have to wait at all.

well youre going to need to use a heat gun---hair drier

I just installed mine today actually. Cause its going to be colder outside...you might need the use the heatgun alittle longer. It shouldnt be bad.

Just make sure you have a good sturdy card to use when pulling out the wrinkles. GOODLUCK!

post some pictures when youre done. If you want to see some of the ones I installed today...lmk!

Ill snap pics a in bit if I can. It still isnt perfect the second time around...but better. Its going to be hard-sorta. Just take your time and make sure you dont over heat the vinyl.

Yeah pics would be good.....it's only gonna be upper 40s to with a chance of reaching 50 here in STL this weekend, so I'll probably wait. I was thinking if I'm going to do it this weekend, I'd use the hairdryer to heat the headlight before I started.

Garage.....IF I can get the car into it since I'm lowered on Stechs and the garage has a nice size lip going into it. Otherwise, it'll be in the driveway, but blocked from alot of wind.

if its not snowing outside, take the headlights out and do it inside the house. takes about 10 minutes to get them out

It's raining and they're predicting snow this weekend. I'll get them done sometime.

At least you're patient.....i'm not patient at all. One of the guys I work with has CF ones on his white tC so everytime I see him or his car, I'm like "Damn weather!!!"

Yup.....between noon today and noon tomorrow we are supposed to have 6-8 inches of snow. Then Monday it's going to be 56 degrees. Not to mention this past Tuesday morning it was 70 degrees at noon, and at 330pm it was 25 degrees.

Installed yesterday since it was about 77 degrees, three days after 8 inches of snow lol, but I haven't had a chance to take pics since it gets dark early still and the rain today. They look fantastic and were a breeze for my first vinyls ever. I'll get pics soon, hopefully and I'll post them.
