Default HELP: With my Third Brake Light....

Hey guys,

My stock third brake light isn't lighting up completely. When I step on the brake the third brake light lights up, but hardly noticeable.

Could this be a loose plug or are my led's burnt??

Thanks for any help,

^Sorry should have been more clear.

It's a stock tbl, so only the middle is suppose to light up. The problem is when I step on the brake the tbl hardly lights up. You can't see the tbl light up unless its completely dark outside and you stand a couple feet in front the the tbl.

Could this be a loose plug somewhere or is it time to replace it?

The last thing I had installed is my Viper 5900 with 2 529t's.

^ Yeah it is, but I don't really want to buy a new one if I don't have to.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?

open up the hatch and take a look........there area two screws on the hatch cover inside, remove the trim around window inside and give it a yank by the handles and it will come right off, takes like 4 minutes, look for loose plug,if nothing works you need new light.......

mines has gone out so my 3rd brake light doesnt work anymore.

im betting its either a burnt out bulb or a burnt out fuse.

the tbl is a set of several led's so they wouldn't burn out across the entire brake light. i checked my fuses and they are good. it has to be something in the circuit board they led's are attached to but i was really hoping to not have to replace the whole thing.

i would use a test light to check each spot on the circuit board to see where you are losing power.
