Default HID kit install.. not working

hey guys,

my friend purchased 2 hid kits for his 2006 tc, both 9006 for the fogs and headlights, however when we plugged everything in nothing works.. i've done hid installs literally hundreds of times so i'm pretty sure it's not the install. my only guess is that the wiring on the tc's is flipped compared to the hid kit. is this a common problem among tcs? when i say flipped i mean the ground and the power are reversed. can anyone help us out?

thanks
jon

are u using a relay or hooking it up to stock power....it should be pretty much straight forward unless you have a bad bulb or ballast

It's actually quite common. I work in a garage and most of the guys here have HIDs and alot of the people we work with do to. Alot of times the wiring is backwards, so switch ground and power in the bulb harness and that should do the trick. if not the ballasts might be bad, those go down often too.

that's the only thing i could think of haha, i was just wondering if anyone knows tcs are like this or not since my friend wants to return his hid kit if they're not working, and if we cut the wires we can't return them haha
thanks for the advice man

just put the plug on backwards to check to see if it works. it won't stay clipped on but at least you can check to see if it lights up. im pretty sure that that is the problem cuz same thing happened to me.

yes, when I installed all my kits, sometimes you have to switch the wiring around to reverse the polarity
