Are the projector housings in the 08-09 Scion's the same that Toyota uses in the Lexus models? Or are they of lesser quality?

*edit* I know there are pics of projector housings in this thread, but aren't these retros?

Lesser quality than the Lexus projectors, but miles better than reflector housings.

actually when i think about it...it's sort of good to have glare. my friend and i almost got hit on the side almost 4 times this week during night time driving on the highway cause they couldnt see us. his cut off on his projectors are nice but they are low.

Yea.....After I Re-Baked My stock 06 headlights and put Everything back together popped my HID's back in..I got a different pattern of "Hot Spots" now...I spent a lot of time adjusting them..I got them decent..I got ONE bad "hot-spot" that kinda shoots up High!...Argh!

I am thinking of getting the 08's now...Then again..I like the Retro-fited ones too....

Thats why cars like the older TL used D2R bulbs (R for reflector) housings. it is a differnt kind of HID bulb.. we all use D2S which are mostly for projection style housings. dont get it twisted, i have PNP HID kit, im not proud, but it was a wedding gift from my BF.. so im gonna rock em... lol
people typically use the term "BF" to describe boyfriend. your a 28/m, so i'm hoping you were referring to best friend?

I hate non-projector HIDs/. They look messy compared to projector. What I will tell you after getting a S40 Rental with HIDs is that the HID lens makes the light.

My '09s look like ____ compared to the Volvo's. I want/need a reto fit. My friend had a retro on his old car and told me that I would get more light out of a retro and I believe him.

I feel like the 08-09 projectors don't spread the light evenly. But I will tell you I love my Mobile HID 5000K's in my stock '09 headlights more than the stock lights.
