Smile How can I fix this rust exhaust pipe?

SO I LOOK UP UNDER MY 09 TC 5.0 RELEASE SERIES AND I SAW THE EXHAUST PIPE IF THAT IS THE OFFICIAL WAY TO CALL IT, IS IT???? AND IS ALL RUSTY, LOOKS BAD, PLUS THERE'S THIS BLACK THING ATTACH TO IT. I DON'T KNOW IF THERE'S A WAY TO CLEAN IT. OR BETTER, IS THERE AN EXHAUST PIPE MADE OF STAINLESS STEAL TO REPLACE IT.
NOTE: I KNOW THERE'S NO NEED TO REPLACE IT IF THERE'S NO PROBLEMS WITH IT, BUT I JUST WANT MY RIDE TO LOOK GOOD EVEN UNDER, THAT'S JUST HOW I ROLL

do you live in a state where it snows in winters? if so, then it might just be the salt on the roads...my 07 doesnt have a rusted midpipe because it doesnt snow where I live so it doesnt see a lot of salt action...

Yes, I live in Massachusetts close to New York. There's a lot of snow in winter time. I think the best choice for me is to replace it with an stainless steel midpipe.

one way you can fix that is you spray paint it with some spray paint from home depot or lowes i forgot what kind it's called but its the one you can paint patio grills with and it should protect it from weather and salt

^ that black looks like a melted plastic bag have fun scraping to off lol
you could drop the pipe sand and paint with a high heat paint to resist rust. i did that on a used exhaust i bought a while ago held up just fine.

Or if you went really crazy just get it powder coated.

I say get a new exhaust. Get a midpipe and an axle-back of your choice if there isn't a cat-back setup you like.

Yep get a new exhaust if you can, but if you can't cleaning that up and painting it with will be fine for now! Make sure that the new exhaust isn't aluminum

You can take it off, clean off the rust really good, and paint it. I wouldn't worry about it, no matter how you "roll" because no one will ever see it. It will take quite awhile to rust through.
